YouTube Music’s 2023 Recap is now live – Here’s how to view yours!

As the year draws to a close, music streaming services now provide users with a look back at their most-played tracks and artists. YouTube Music announced on Monday that customers can now access their 2024 Music Recap, a personalized summary featuring statistics about their top artists, songs, moods, genres, and more for the year.

Enter your 2024 music recap through the YouTube and YouTube Music apps. To view your recap, simply glance up and check out the banner, or head to your profile and select “Your Recap” followed by “Get Your Recap”.

This year’s YouTube Music Recap takes the form of animated playing cards, reminiscent of those showcased in Spotify’s Wrapped feature, which pioneered the year-in-review format subsequently emulated by services like YouTube Music and Apple Music.

Unlike past YouTube Music Recaps, which relied on static images, this year’s offering transforms into a dynamic, audio-visual experience that harmonizes with the pulsating beats of your most popular tracks.

YouTube Music may be introducing three new statistics to help customers better discover their listening habits. Your sonic odyssey unfolds with an eclectic mix of genres, blending vibrant beats and melodic motifs that harmonize across 12 months. YouTube Music may deduce that your listening habits in the current year have been characterized by a predominantly moody or amped tone.

Plus, you may observe a visualized timeline that showcases pivotal events throughout the year. Here is the rewritten text:

You may also notice instances where “January marked your peak month with Charli XCX,” or “March was particularly satisfying, at least in terms of musical output.”

YouTube Music creates a personalized alter ego profile for users based on their listening habits, which might be aptly named “The Hometown Hero,” “The Life of the Party,” or “The Hopeless Romantic.”

This year’s YouTube Music Recap includes highlights from our popular podcasts, featuring the top podcast of the year, as well as a countdown of your top five.

Spotify and Apple Music are expected to release their annual summaries in the near future.
