The world’s speediest bricklaying robotic technology has finally touched down in America.

A robotic truck equipped with a 105-foot (32-meter) telescoping boom has successfully completed its epic journey from Australia to Florida. Currently, the developmental robot is poised to ramp up production, generating up to 10 residences in an effort to become the go-to workforce for building entire communities.

The Hadrian X, a cutting-edge construction equipment featuring a truck-mounted brick-laying arm, has been engineered by FBR, a pioneering robotics company. The machine could potentially build a full-sized house in just two days. Last year, FBR, previously known as Fastbrick Robotics, showcased its technology’s capabilities by stacking a staggering 500 USA-format masonry blocks within an hour at high speed.

Once fully loaded with pallets bearing the necessary building blocks, the robotic arm of the autonomous vehicle will spring into action. Each block is dispatched down a chute on the arm, coated with a rapid-drying development adhesive that replaces traditional mortar, before being precisely positioned at the end of the arm by a versatile gripper system. Due to its impressive dimensions, the arm is poised to construct structures that could potentially reach a height of three stories tall. As its robotic nature dictates, this machine will operate uninterrupted, exempt from fatigue or respite, and thus maintain a steady pace of 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

The launch of Hadrian X in Florida marks a significant milestone for FBR and its partners at CRH Ventures Americas, Inc., a subsidiary of CRH plc, one of the leading concrete block suppliers in the United States, as part of a three-way collaboration aimed at driving innovation and growth within the industry.

The robotic builder’s inaugural showcase is slated for a website launch and on-site demonstration at a facility in Fort Myers, Florida, highlighting its innovative capabilities. Shouldn’t that be? Hadrian X will subsequently build between five and ten single-story residences as part of its demonstration project. Once completed, the two corporations will formalize a more enduring agreement, wherein FBR will become CRH Ventures’ exclusive “Wall as a Service” partner in the US market.

The proposed settlement may lead to a gradual purchase of up to 300 Hadrian X units from FBR, potentially paving the way for the establishment of entire robotic communities through this innovative approach.

“We’ve established a clear strategy for entering the US market,” said Mike Pivac, Managing Director and CEO at FBR, “and we’re poised to make it happen with the support of one of the country’s largest concrete block manufacturers.” “We’re thrilled to break into a fresh, global market, highlighting the expertise and capabilities of our innovative solutions and kickstarting our growth strategy, backed by the financial and operational support of a renowned leader in building materials manufacturing.”
