Don’t miss the action unfold on our screens this Monday at 8:00 p.m. Eastern Time as we bring you all the excitement in real-time!

Sony / Honda Afeela concept EV

At the forefront of Sony’s 2023 and 2024 CES press conferences was the Afeela electric automobile, a trend expected to continue into 2025, with a focus at the company’s event and subsequent press conference. At CES, a platform where it’s accustomed to being the main attraction, Sony takes an unexpected detour, departing from its legacy of innovative products that have defined consumer electronics for decades – from the iconic Walkman portables and Trinitron TVs of yesteryear to the groundbreaking PlayStation consoles, Alpha cameras, and exceptional headphones that have shaped the twenty-first century.

The Afeela is the flagship product of Sony Honda Mobility, a collaborative venture between two industry leaders: Sony, a renowned Japanese electronics corporation, and Honda, a pioneering Japanese automaker. Following its CES press conference, Sony unveiled more details about the electric vehicle’s advanced sensing technology, featuring a LiDAR-rich sensor array and AI-driven cabin innovations, which will be powered by Microsoft. If the automaker’s previously announced scheduling waypoints – preorders in 2025 preceding 2026 availability – remain unchanged, we’re eager to see which of the Afeela’s concept car amenities will ultimately find their way onto the roads once it transitions from virtual reality to real-world production.

Despite its name, Afeela won’t be a constant presence in Las Vegas every day. Sony’s reputation for excellence in imaging, gaming and film studio divisions is expectedly highlighted through dedicated communication efforts. Unfortunately, that information never materialized, leaving us all wondering what could have been revealed. At CES 2025, the perfect opportunity arises to unveil a robust alternative to the Apple Pro Display XDR, potentially challenging its dominance in the professional display market.

Will you be able to watch the Sony CES press conference live as it happens from anywhere in the world under any circumstances? The live feed is scheduled to commence on Monday, January 6, at 8:00 PM Eastern Time.

The Afeela press conference is scheduled to take place on Tuesday, January 7, at 4:30 PM Pacific Time, which may also be available.
