Symbotic’s automation system leverages the power of autonomous cellular robots and robotic arms, equipped with advanced vision and sensing capabilities that enable precise navigation and manipulation. | Supply: Symbotic
Symbotic Inc. Presently, the company has entered into industrial agreements with Walmart de México y Centroamérica, commonly referred to as Walmex. Symbotic’s warehouse automation technology is set to be implemented at two Walmex locations near Mexico City.
Symbotic’s programmes will be deployed beneath the agreements at two greenfield distribution facilities. Walmex has launched its first e-commerce website in the Bajío region of Mexico. The newly launched Bajio website aims to become one of the largest in its distribution community within Mexico, boasting the distinction of being the largest Symbotic deployment undertaken in a single phase.
“We’re thrilled to welcome Walmex as a partner, leveraging our cutting-edge automation technology within their Mexican community to boost productivity across both distribution centers and stores,” stated Rick Cohen, Chairman and CEO of Symbotic. “This landmark achievement highlights the versatility of Symbotic’s programming, showcasing its capacity to deliver innovative logistics solutions on a global scale.”
Symbotic further solidified its global footprint by establishing a novel corporate entity, Symbotic Mexico, S. de R.L. De CV, leveraging its expertise to cater to Mexican market demands and capitalize on the burgeoning global appetite for warehouse automation solutions. The company has announced a series of brand-new entity and first-buyer agreements, which characterize significant progress in its global expansion plans.

SymBots to modernize Walmex operations
Symbotic has announced that its robotic case-picking solutions will help Walmex to modernize its comprehensive supply chain infrastructure. At the heart of the corporation’s infrastructure lies a network of autonomous cellular robots, cleverly dubbed SymBots. The corporation developed the Advanced Manufacturing Robot (AMR) specifically for machine learning applications, equipping it with robust onboard computing capabilities that enable data gathering, insight extraction, and adaptive flexibility in response to changing environmental conditions and operational variations.
The SymBots are capable of handling a diverse range of merchandise in varying dimensions, including size, weight, and shape. Symbotic’s capabilities make them an ideal fit for organizations like Walmart Mexico (Walmex), which operates diverse product distribution networks.
The Advanced Mobile Robots (AMRs) are capable of adjusting their lifting capacity to pick up and set down items on shelves at varying elevations. SymBot efficiently performs parallel operations while the robot is in motion, significantly reducing downtime between tasks and increasing productivity.
Symbotic claims its software can boost efficiency, inventory capacity and accuracy, as well as employee safety, enabling faster deliveries to Walmart Mexico’s stores.
