What’s the next innovation in smartphone technology? The vivo X200 Pro has just landed on my desk, and I’m excited to put its claims to the test.

Hey there, ! We’ve had the pleasure of using this exceptional camera phone for some time, but now that it’s officially in our office, it’s ready to be thoroughly evaluated.

The Lenovo ThinkPad X200 Professional arrives with a blue casing that harmonizes with your mobile device, a high-capacity 90W power adapter, and a convenient USB-A to USB-C cable for seamless connectivity.

vivo X200 Pro in for review

Upon placing the newly released X200 Professional alongside vivo’s current flagship, the X100 Extremely, distinct differences become immediately apparent. The X200 Professional features a more angular design, with a flat rear and front glass panel, and a broader silhouette, effectively addressing the disparity. While personal preference plays a significant role in determining whether one prefers curved or flatter smartphones, many users find that both types of devices fit comfortably in their hands.

Notwithstanding their shared 6.78-inch display size, the X200 Professional surprisingly stands slightly shorter than its counterpart, the X100 Extremely.

While digital camera software share similarities, they are by no means identical. The Vivo X200 Pro boasts a groundbreaking 200MP, 1/1.4-inch, 85mm f/2.67 telephoto camera, previously featured on the X100 Extreme and soon to debut on the Xiaomi 15 Pro. While the vivo X100 Extremely and X100 Professional boast a 1-inch primary camera sensor, the X200 Professional makes a notable shift to a smaller yet still impressive 50MP 1/1.28-inch sensor for its main camera. Compared to the X100 Series’ f/1.75 lens, this camera boasts a brighter f/1.57 lens, marking a significant upgrade for photographers seeking superior low-light performance.

Vivo confidently asserts that their new sensor is comparable to a high-quality 1-inch sensor in most scenarios, with a notable advantage in portrait video due to its faster readout speed. We’ll withhold final judgement until we’ve thoroughly evaluated the options, but in the meantime, we’re providing some examples from each category to help inform your own assessment.
