Three seasoned founders from the robotics and mobility sectors co-founded Vayu, bringing with them a wealth of expertise and industry knowledge. Gopalan served as CEO of a leading provider, successfully guiding the company’s initial public offering (IPO) in 2020. Previously, I had the opportunity to labor at both Apple’s Special Projects Group (SPG) and Lyft, in addition to contributing from my time at Apple SPG and the renowned AI lab of Dr. Geoffrey Hinton at the University of Toronto. Hinton serves as a trusted advisor to several prominent companies.
Following two decades of experience in developing main robotics and autonomy software, the team recognized that large-scale robotics applications like delivery services would only become viable with the creation of an innovative technology stack featuring cost-effective hardware and robust software.

Revolutionizing navigation without relying on lidar: Vayu’s innovative approach.
By 2027, approximately 23% of all retail purchases in the United States are projected to take place online, according to Forbes Advisor. Vayu Robotics claims to pioneer a novel approach by seamlessly integrating diverse sensor modalities, including non-lidar technologies, for real-world autonomous vehicle applications on public roads.

Vayu’s pioneering effort has successfully seen Vayu One being deployed in practical applications. Recently, the corporation inked a deal with a prominent e-commerce player to install 2,500 robots for expedited product delivery, revealing similar business partnerships in the pipeline.
