Valerion’s VisionMaster projectors aim to rival XGIMI and Dangbei.

The house laser projector market is experiencing exponential growth, with Chinese manufacturers playing a significant role in driving this surge. Manufacturers such as XGIMI and Dangbei have gained significant traction in the Western market, while AWOL Imaginative and Prescient stands out as a particularly compelling brand to watch.

The model stands out as an exceptional alternative, and having used it for nearly a year, I’m convinced it’s one of the best UST projectors available on the market today.

AWOL’s innovative approach takes center stage with the debut of its VisionMaster series under the newly minted Valerion sub-brand, marking a bold departure from traditional product launches. Four types of merchandise are available for procurement: the VisionMaster Plus, the Plus 2, the Professional 2, and the Max. Valerion is leveraging crowdfunding for its innovative projectors.

While I appreciate the visual appeal of the VisionMaster collection’s design, what truly sets it apart is the harmonious cohesion of its metallic fin accents, which create a striking aesthetic that is both modern and sleek. The camera also boasts impressive connectivity features, alongside traditional desk staples such as automatic keystone correction, autofocus functionality, and obstruction avoidance capabilities.

The Plus model serves as the flagship design within the collection, boasting a lumens output of 1500 and featuring a sleek blue casing. Available for purchase at a discounted price of $1,199, representing a significant 40 percent reduction from the original retail value. Within the collection, The Plus 2 stands out as a premium option, boasting a potent 2000-lumen projection and priced at an affordable $1,499.

I’m excited to test the VisionMaster Professional 2 later this month, which boasts an impressive 3000-lumen brightness, a 0.9-1.5:1 optical zoom, and is available for purchase at a competitive price point of $2,099. To round out the portfolio, we have a Max model featuring the same 3000-lumen brightness as its predecessor. However, this lamp boasts an innovative vertical lens switching system and a Dynamic Iris that dynamically adjusts the lens to optimize contrast levels in any ambient light environment.

The exterior variations in brightness notwithstanding, all fashions uniformly employ a consistent tri-laser light source, operating on MediaTek’s reliable MT9618 platform. Equipped with integrated Google TV, the device boasts a generous 4GB of RAM and ample 128GB of internal storage, while also featuring standard Dolby Vision integration for an immersive viewing experience. While the Valerion projector has its advantages, it’s worth noting that as a relatively new model from AWOL Imaginative and Prescient, it still needs to establish credibility in the market.

When collectors crave the ultimate visual experience, they may eagerly seek to get their hands on the highly coveted VisionMaster collection. The Plus, Plus 2, and Professional 2 are slated for shipment to backers starting December 2024, with the Max model available for delivery in May 2025.
