At Anime NYC, Netflix unveiled a gripping purple-hued trailer for its latest series, showcasing scenes of intense brutality and violence as multiple characters face gruesome fates in the most merciless manner. In a futuristic scenario, cutting-edge killer robots, led by a formidable Terminator played by Timothy Olyphant, are on the hunt for their human creators: Malcolm Lee and his family, targeted by an advanced artificial intelligence named Kokoro, developed in Japan to rival its own Skynet equivalent. As a last-ditch effort, time-traveling resistance soldier Eiko (Sonoya Mizuno) must safeguard the Lee family while endeavouring to prevent the catastrophic consequences of Kokoro before it irreparably ravages the nation, reminiscent of the apocalyptic aftermath wrought by Skynet in the West.
