General Atomics Aeronautical Systems (GA-ASI) recently flew its MQ-9B SkyGuardian unmanned aerial vehicle equipped with Pratt & Whitney Canada’s PT6E-66AP turboprop engine, a milestone in the development of this advanced propulsion system for military and civil use. The flight test marked the first time an MQ-9 series aircraft has been powered by the PT6E engine, which offers increased efficiency, reliability, and reduced environmental impact.
