The Gartner 2024 International Labor Market Survey revealed that globally, 44% of employees adopted a hybrid work model, surpassing the 39% of employees who worked full-time in traditional offices.

While some companies designate specific days for on-site work, others grant employees autonomy over their schedules. Hybrid work arrangements can also lead to fewer daily commutes, subsequently reducing carbon emissions from vehicular traffic.

While hybrid work models can indeed foster sustainable workplaces by promoting well-being, engagement, and productivity among employees in office environments.

Meanwhile, employers are uncovering that flexible work arrangements have become a key strategy for attracting, supporting, and retaining top talent.

By 2022, a comprehensive survey of 28,000 full-time employees across 27 global markets revealed overwhelming support for hybrid work arrangements implemented through a collaborative framework.

  • Sixty-two percent of employees concur that flexibility in where and how they work significantly influences their decision to stay or leave an organization.

Not only do these options promote more sustainable hybrid work, but many of the products themselves are designed with sustainability in mind as well.

The V-Station, a versatile video presentation device designed specifically for modern workplace assembly rooms, was conceived using a circular design approach. The weight of internal components decreased by 16 tons annually, while the packaging volume was reduced by 44% through eliminating foam material. The design of the product prioritizes ease of restoration, refurbishment, and recycling for a more sustainable lifecycle.

Cisco leverages these guidelines across its comprehensive product portfolio. By fiscal year 2025, the company’s new merchandise and packaging will adhere to established Round Design Guidelines.

Cisco’s mission is to power a more inclusive and equitable future for everyone. Ensuring that all employees, regardless of their unique backgrounds or circumstances, feel valued and empowered to contribute fully is a cornerstone objective for the corporation.
