From Startmate’s esteemed program, one promising founder among many has taken their inaugural strides into the world of entrepreneurship.
Two-thirds (64%) of the 11 startups in this cohort are receiving funding for the first time, with Starmate alone committing over $1.3 million to the winter program.
Startmate invests $120,000 in early-stage startups, securing an 8% stake at a valuation of $1.5 million, with software emerging as the primary driver of significant returns. Interestingly, the cohort is comprised of 45% hardware-focused companies, 36% AI-driven ventures, and 27% climate-focused initiatives.
Given that only 36% of venture-backed startups focus on women’s health and just 43% are co-founded by women, sisters at Borne are making strides in their own right, revolutionizing the industry with a median of 5-year-old founders backing their ventures.
