Samsung unveiled the device in December of last year, so we’re already approaching the time when its successor should be officially announced? Although there’s been no official confirmation, leaked renders of the forthcoming Galaxy A26 have emerged, offering a first glimpse of its design.
The phone measures 164 x 77.5 x 7.7mm, with a slight increase to 9.7mm due to the digital camera bump. The new design boasts an impressive expansion in size, effectively stretching to become taller, wider, and slimmer compared to its predecessor. Notably, this transformation is accompanied by a substantial display upgrade, with credible sources suggesting the screen dimensions will swell to approximately 6.64 inches, eclipsing the A25’s modest 6.5-inch panel.
The Galaxy A26 is expected to retain its processing power, relying on Samsung’s Exynos 1280 system-on-chip, mirroring the A25 configuration. To accommodate increased demands, it will come equipped with a single model featuring 6GB of RAM, departing from the A25’s more limited options. The Galaxy A26 might debut with Android 11 out of the box, rather than Android 15, given the current software landscape; it should also maintain a competitive price point consistent with that of its precursor.
Notably, the cellphone features a flat screen accompanied by a nostalgically styled waterdrop notch and prominent backside bezel. The three cameras situated on the same island have no additional individual profiles.
The edges are flat, with one notable exception: Samsung’s Key Island, situated on the right-hand side, protrudes to house the power and volume controls, effective in 2024.
