What’s Driving Innovation in Robotics?

IDS showcases groundbreaking 2D, 3D, and AI-powered vision technologies at SPS 2024 in Nuremberg, Germany.

Detecting even the smallest errors, effectively reducing throughput costs, and preventing defects from occurring in the first place – industrial cameras play a crucial role in providing vital information for automated processes. At SPS / Intelligent Manufacturing Solutions in Nuremberg, Germany, IDS will showcase which applied sciences and products have significant connections from November 12-14. If you’re curious about learning how small cameras can tackle big challenges, Stand 6-360 is the ideal destination to explore.

Approximately 1,200 companies will be showcased across 16 exhibition halls at the forthcoming trade fair focused on goods and digital automation. IDS will participate for the first time, focusing on industrial image processing for robotics, a course in automation and networked systems. Philipp Ohl, Head of Product Administration at IDS, explains: “Automation and cameras are a match made in heaven.” Together, they fit seamlessly into place like two pieces of a puzzle, each one designed specifically to complement the other. At SPS, the company will showcase a diverse range of innovative products and demo programs that demand a unique combination of exceptional qualities, akin to high-definition photography, rapid-fire cameras or intelligent fashion – all hallmarks of cutting-edge technology.

The primary categories of IDS capabilities can be distilled into three distinct areas: two-dimensional, three-dimensional, and artificial intelligence-driven image analysis. The corporation will be introducing uEye Dwell, its latest innovative product range. These rugged, industrial-grade monitoring cameras enable seamless dwell streaming, ideal for continuous process monitoring and documentation. The company may introduce a cutting-edge event-based sensor, specifically designed for precise movement analysis and high-speed object counting applications. This innovative technology allows for the eco-friendly monitoring of rapid changes through precise pixel-level tracking, rather than conventional frame-by-frame analysis.

At the 3D cameras product phase, IDS will showcase the advantages of its newly launched stereo vision camera, Ensenso B, for precise close-range selection tasks, as well as a prototype of its first-time-of-flight camera, fully designed and developed in-house.

For individuals enthusiastic about robust character recognition, a visit to the trade show’s DENKnet OCR stand may yield exciting discoveries. By leveraging this technology, texts and symbols on surfaces can be accurately detected and processed with reliability. IDS will be showcasing their latest innovations at SPS, located at Stand 6-360.
