When a motivated global workforce is harmoniously aligned with a transparent mission, remarkable achievements are possible. At Cisco, our goal is to energize an even more inclusive future for everyone. Within Cisco’s authorized program, we strive to achieve this goal through professional pro bono work.
Following the publication of our inaugural pro bono report in 2023, we commemorated a remarkable milestone: more than half of our US-based attorneys contributed their expertise and time to support critical access-to-justice initiatives, showcasing their commitment to making a positive impact.
We are delighted to report that our initial goals have been surpassed, with an impressive 90 percent of our U.S.-based attorneys actively engaged in pro bono endeavors during the past fiscal year. True to our conviction that professional bons are accessible to all, nearly half of our technical and professional staff engaged in professional bons, mirroring the inclusive spirit we aim to uphold. We substantially increased our professional pro bono efforts globally, achieving our goal of establishing clinics in all three of Cisco’s international regions.
Approximately 9 out of 10 US-based attorneys at our firm dedicated time and expertise to professional pro bono initiatives during the past fiscal year.
As a global collective of authorized and compliance experts operating across numerous workplaces and time zones, pro bono has become a universal lingua franca. The Cisco technology enables groups to participate in virtual clinics that were previously limited solely by geographical boundaries. As a result, we are empowered to expand our reach and offer even more opportunities for engagement.
There are numerous options available to address the issue of a widening justice gap. Throughout various critical domains, our dedicated volunteers provided expert and operational support, encompassing initiatives in immigration, election security, and expungement, as well as assistance for veterans, entrepreneurs, seniors, domestic abuse survivors, and members of the LGBTQIA+ community.
This year’s comprehensive report underscores the idea that professional bono services cannot be standardized across all organizations or individuals. At Cisco, we empower colleagues to pursue professional development opportunities that resonate with their unique passions and goals. The outcome is a vibrant tapestry of emotional resonance, ultimately driving a more inclusive and welcoming environment for everyone.
