Realme contends that the limits of optical technology within smartphone camera modules have been reached, with further advancements in image resolution achievable only through the application of advanced AI-driven image processing techniques. We received an exclusive invitation from the corporation to preview their forthcoming Realme 13 Professional+, granting us the privilege of capturing photographs with this cutting-edge device.

The Realme brand has a long history of pioneering digital camera innovations and making them accessible to a broad audience. Realme has announced a significant collaboration with Sony, whose cutting-edge sensors will power the main and periscope cameras in our latest devices.

The Realme 13 Pro series will pioneer the adoption of the cutting-edge Sony IMX789 sensor, as represented by the model number LYT-701. Although details about this sensor are still limited, concrete evidence is emerging with the release of sample images from digital cameras.

Can this professional mannequin serve as a periscope lens with an LYT-600 mounted behind it? While this is reportedly the first instance of this sensor being paired with another component, it’s otherwise a well-established 50-megapixel sensor, boasting a 1/1.93-inch format.

The periscope lens offers 3x magnification (73mm), combining seamlessly with the in-sensor zoom capabilities of the LYT-600 to potentially deliver a lossless zoom of up to 6x (146mm). Realme boasts that its image quality remains unimpaired even under intense scrutiny at 10x magnification. The Realme 13 Pro+ features an opposing dual-camera setup, consisting of a 24mm-wide-angle lens and a 16-megapixel ultra-wide-angle sensor with a 0.6x crop factor.

Before diving into the digital camera samples, let’s take a closer look at the phone itself. Here’s a sneak peek at the Realme 13 Professional+, and we’re not quite ready to unveil its design yet.

The news that it’ll feature a curved display comes as no surprise, given that similar designs were already implemented in the 12, 11, and 10 Professional+ models.

We also highlight Realme’s AI-driven image processing technology. The technology has three core components, starting with cutting-edge optics that enables us to acquire one of the most accurate and raw data possible? The device’s on-board AI-driven image processing technology enhances subtle features and shadows, ensuring accurate and natural-looking skin tones while delivering lifelike depth of field effects, including a dedicated mode for capturing high-quality group shots. The third component involves AI-powered image editing in the cloud, allowing you to enhance a select few photographs as needed.

Here are the digital camera samples we took with the Realme 13 Pro, capturing high-quality images within our bespoke photo studio setting.

We employed the primary digital camera to capture the initial scene at its native focal length, subsequently utilizing 2x and 6x magnification options, as well as the telephoto lens in both its native 3x and amplified 6x configurations.

With a focus on subtlety, the subsequent scene was captured using only the telephoto lens, commencing at 73mm (three times magnification) and stretching to 239mm (a remarkable tenfold amplification).

The subsequent scene was captured with a soft, muted light characteristic of many zoom cameras operating in low-gain mode. We start by examining the primary source, followed by a closer look at two accompanying images through the lens of a periscope. Each photograph features crucial camera settings prominently displayed underneath: focal length, aperture, shutter speed, and ISO value.

Okay, again to Lego city. Subsequent photographs increase in magnification from 1x to 6x.

Six additional photographs are included with this update. The combination of a 3x optical magnification from the periscope and in-sensor zoom capabilities on the LYT-600 sensor.

With the Realme phone, you’re free to venture out and capture a few stunning photos of Bangkok’s vibrant streets. As the afternoon wore on, the sun began its descent into the horizon. This lens excelled in capturing beautiful images even in challenging illumination conditions.

Here’s the panoramic vista unfolding before us, starting with the 16mm wide-angle lens of our robust camera setup and telescoping upwards to a 6x magnification with the periscope.

We aimed the digital camera along an alternative path and reconfigured the 16-144mm lens once again.

Using the primary 24mm Sony LYT-701 digital camera, we captured the scene of the rooftop bar, which was illuminated by its usual ornamental lights.

Here’s the same scene again, this time through the unfettered lens of our wide-angle digital camera.

The Realme 13 Pro series is eagerly anticipated, despite the company having yet to officially announce a release date.
