Qualcomm reported last week that its IoT segment generated a significant $1.7 billion in revenue, marking a notable milestone for the company. The company’s revenue from this new sector has more than doubled its current automotive-derived income. This module boasts unparalleled connectivity capabilities, featuring Wi-Fi 6 and Bluetooth 5.3 alongside advanced protocols like Thread and Zigbee. This design enables seamless integration with various dwelling hubs and high-quality appliances, offering enhanced functionality. It may also be designed to connect wirelessly and transmit data over an Ethernet connection, a feature often found in modern vehicles.

The QCC730M is a low-power Wi-Fi 4 module with micro-scale capabilities. That is intended for use in battery-powered gadgets, such as Wi-Fi enabled safety cameras or high-security locks. With a 60MHz CPU and 640KB of RAM, the device is equipped with additional hardware acceleration to enhance the performance of cryptographic security protocols.

Chips are available in sample form, enabling product builders to start prototyping promptly. Mass production is scheduled to commence in the first half of 2025, ensuring widespread industrial availability.
