In China, a brand-new software update arrived yesterday, accompanied by a list of devices scheduled to receive the upgrade and a precise timeline indicating when each model will be impacted.
A purported leak of the initial list of devices to receive HyperOS 2 has emerged. The record ambiguously states that these phones will receive the new skin “by Q1 2025”, leaving room for interpretation – it’s unclear whether this means before the start of Q1 or at its end on March 31? To clarify, a more precise phrasing would be “by year-end 2024” or specify a specific date within Q1, avoiding potential confusion.
There’s undoubtedly a long wait ahead for owners of these devices – similarly, prolonged delays for updates aren’t alien to Xiaomi, Redmi, and Poco smartphone users.
The Xiaomi portfolio comprises a range of logical suspects: the Xiaomi 14 series, Mi 11, Mi 10, Xiaomi 13 devices, Poco X4, Poco F4, Redmi 12, and Redmi 13 lines. These devices add a multitude of features.
The global rollout of HyperOS 2’s flagship model remains uncertain regarding whether it will receive a dedicated launch event or not. While the Chinese language iteration offers various standard enhancements, as well as an array of AI-driven features, we anticipate the global version to provide similar parity.
