As the attack on the fundamental and straightforward button gained momentum, it evolved into a complex entity that baffled everyone involved in the process.

I’ve lost count of how many times I’ve accidentally activated or iPhone, held the power button expecting a shutdown or restart, only to be confronted with some unexpected pop-up, obscure menu, or on-screen feature that’s decidedly not a Power menu. Frustrated, I experiment with unconventional combinations: pairing energy boosters with quantity adjustments, timing it for 5 seconds, seeking divine intervention through prayer and candlelight, resorting to an ancient rain dance, and even considering a sacrificial offering – all in desperation to silence the insufferable phone.

Honestly, I’m not like those people who frequently replace their phones and rarely power them down. If I were in your shoes, I’d likely grow frustrated with the absurdity of the situation multiple times, seek out clarification, and then utilize the solution for only a brief period – without much fanfare.

While serving as a tech reviewer, I frequently encounter various smartphones and models – whether reviewing them or resolving issues for family and friends. To validate whether a glitch persists or is a temporary anomaly, I must apply software updates and perform a system reboot. This ensures that any server-side changes are reflected in the user interface, as restarting the Google app can trigger a refresh of the UI to display the latest updates. I receive numerous technical questions via phone and WhatsApp requests in addition to my regular workloads. Like many tech-savvy individuals, I’ve grown accustomed to applying a simple yet effective troubleshooting method: the “have you tried turning it off and on again?” approach. Realme and HONOR phones have mysteriously removed the menu icon from their notification drop-down menus. Realme resorts to the same shortcut bypass used by Pixel phones, albeit. While Honor employs a simpler workaround to showcase the phone – literally pressing and holding the power button – this method necessitates a 5-second hold, significantly longer than the traditional 2 seconds. I’ve consistently struggled to shut down my Honor phone without fail, simply because I’m reluctant to lose the stream of notifications that demand my attention at all hours.
