A Polish bus producer, a leading entity focused on the development, manufacturing, and distribution of premium tourist and concrete buses, has secured a significant investment of €7.7 million from Vinci S.A. This strategic investment will drive MMI’s vision to pioneer a new era of emission-free transportation, encompassing electric and hydrogen-powered bus models, solidifying its position as a prominent player in Europe’s growing green mobility sector.
With a reputation on the rise, MMI, a family-run business, is best known for its lineup of diesel and compressed natural gas (CNG) vehicles. Notwithstanding the growing need for eco-friendly transportation alternatives, MMI is shifting its focus towards manufacturing zero-emission buses. The newly secured funding enables the corporation to create three distinct electrical bus variants: a low-entry model, a low-floor design, and a standard-floor configuration. With the latest advancements in electric motor technology, these automobiles boast a combination of innovative chassis design and lightweight construction aimed at optimizing efficiency and range capabilities.

The pivotal component of MMI’s strategic expansion roadmap is the pioneering initiative to develop an electric minibus fuelled by a cutting-edge hydrogen gas cell technology. This strategic endeavour, complemented by the creation of a cutting-edge manufacturing corridor, will empower MMI to augment its production capacity by a factor of two and expand its reach across Europe.
As the European Union ramps up efforts towards achieving zero-emission public transportation, MMI’s strategic development takes on heightened importance. By 2030, the European Union aims to make all newly manufactured metropolitan buses zero-emission vehicles, creating an opportunity for MMI to capitalize on this trend. The corporation’s visionary approach not only responds to current market demands but also thoughtfully considers the regulatory landscape, thereby ensuring its products remain competitive across Europe and ahead of emerging trends.
MMI’s financial performance has experienced a steady upward trend, with the corporation achieving a remarkable threefold increase in efficiency last year, thereby exceeding 70 million PLN in revenue. The latest funding injection will further fortify MMI’s market presence, allowing it to expand its operations into key European territories including Italy, France, Germany, Switzerland, and the Scandinavian region.
