The PBC15 cable connector from Binder USA offers a range of plug-in components.

The Binder PBC15 cable connector features flanged elements designed to support a range of industrial applications seamlessly. Supply: binder

In today’s fast-paced industrial landscape, where reliability is paramount, Binder USA LP stands out for its expertise in crafting compact yet robust connectors capable of handling high currents and voltages with precision. The manufacturer of round connectors has recently launched specific flange components designed to serve as plug-compatible accessories for their PBC15 cable connector.

According to Binder, the PBC connector system is engineered to handle high levels of current and voltage in confined spaces. Combining this innovation with brand-new elements enables the creation of bespoke programmes catering to various purposes, such as in-car technology.

According to Philipp Zuber, product supervisor at Binder, the system is particularly well-suited for applications where energy and indicator signals need to be transmitted via cable. “With the option for shielding, the connector can be optimised for applications that demand exceptional signal integrity or where electromagnetic transmission is a requirement.”

PBC15 flanges present safe connections

The PBC15 supplies power and monitoring data to three-phase and asynchronous motors, as well as frequency converters, according to Binder. Owing to its unique characteristics, this material can be leveraged across various industries, including drives, automation, intralogistics, and mechanical engineering, with applications extending to follower components, pumps, and packaging machinery.

The innovative flange elements ensure secure and reliable connections for efficient data transfer, effectively defining seamless communication protocols. According to Binder, this enhancement further amplifies the benefits of the PBC15 system.

Flange elements come in two forms: flange plugs and sockets, both featuring a locking mechanism. They are available in either unshielded plastic or shielded versions with metallic components. They offer standardised wire cross-sectional areas of 1.5 mm² and 2.5 mm², along with wire lengths of 250 mm, allowing for the reliable transmission of up to 16 A at 630 V.

The PBC15 flange elements feature an M20 x 1.5 mounting thread, allowing for direct installation into customer-specific housings, machines, or motors using a locknut. A secure locking system can be implemented through a quarter-turn rotation.

According to Binder, the standardized flange elements are designed for cross-manufacturer suitability, adhering to DIN EN IEC 61076-2-116 standards, thereby offering maximum flexibility.
