Soccer-based shenanigans return to St. The annual George’s Park Charity Event sees the UK video games industry reunite to raise vital funds for a worthy cause once again! Within just two weeks, a unique opportunity arises to enjoy 24 hours of top-notch recreational developmental soccer being broadcast live online for everyone’s entertainment, with proceeds going towards a worthy cause.
Since its inception in 2020, One Huge Sport has made significant strides: what initially started as a -based rivalry between Xbox Game Studios’ Uncommon and Playground Games evolved into a live soccer face-off between the teams in 2021, and has since transformed into a multi-studio, 24-hour collaborative effort broadcasted live from the English FA’s national football centre. For the second consecutive year, the One Huge Sport team has attempted to host a major event of this magnitude, with last year’s endeavour having garnered unprecedented attention.
Building on the success of last year’s One Huge Game, teams from renowned video game companies such as Activision, Jagex, Ninja Theory, Ubisoft, and more will converge to settle once and for all – or at least for the next 12 months – the age-old question: which is superior, Team Red or Team Blue? Teams participating will be divided into two crews, designated by distinct color schemes, and compete in a standard 90-minute game, with their cumulative scores contributing to the overall Crew Pink and Crew Blue standings.
The highly anticipated sporting showdown commences at 7pm BST on September 25, with security measures set to begin at 6:30pm BST. The thrilling contest is expected to culminate around 7:15pm BST on September 26, as the triumphant team claims victory after a nail-biting finale.
