In March of the previous year, we introduced the plan for a revolutionary new product.
The AWS Asia Pacific (Malaysia) region is now fully available, comprising three Availability Zones, which can be accessed via the ap-southeast-5 API title.
The AWS Asia Pacific (Malaysia) Region is the primary infrastructure location in Malaysia, marking the thirteenth region in the Asia Pacific, which now includes Hong Kong, Hyderabad, Jakarta, Melbourne, Mumbai, Osaka, Seoul, Singapore, Sydney, Tokyo, as well as the Mainland China Beijing and Ningxia regions.
The brand-new AWS region in Malaysia will play a pivotal role in supporting the Malaysian government’s strategic initiatives. The aim of this initiative is to elevate the living standards of all Malaysians by 2030 while fostering innovation in Malaysia and across the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) region. The development and operation of the brand-new AWS Asia Pacific Region are projected to contribute approximately $12.1 billion (MYR 57.3 billion) to Malaysia’s gross domestic product (GDP), thereby supporting a mean of more than 3,500 full-time equivalent jobs at external companies annually by 2038.
The AWS region in Malaysia is poised to meet the surging demand for cloud services, while fostering innovation not just domestically but across Southeast Asia as well.
