We are announcing the general availability of a new addition to the EC2 High Memory family, built in collaboration with Hewlett Packard Enterprise. Amazon EC2 instances in the U7 instance type run on the 16-socket HPE Compute Scale-up Server 3200, with each instance carefully crafted and managed to deliver a tailored expertise for various EC2 scenarios.
Fuelled by cutting-edge technology from the latest generation of Intel processors.® Xeon® Scalable processors, codenamed Sapphire Rapids, enable the deployment of up to 32 terabytes of memory and 1920 virtual CPUs in a single instance, when needed. This occasion offers the industry’s top computational performance, boasting the largest compute and memory capacities in the cloud, ideal for running large-scale, mission-critical database workloads such as SAP HANA.
In May 2024, we introduced a solution designed to help up to 896 vCPUs and up to 32 terabytes of memory, enabling our enterprise clients to efficiently migrate their large-scale mission-critical in-memory databases to AWS and capitalize on the flexibility, scalability, reliability, and cost benefits that AWS offers.
As companies expand their operations, they seek to harmonize efficiency with increased processing power and memory, coupled with SAP certification, to derive real-time business intelligence. Clients currently running on-premises HPE server-based deployments are seeking guidance on how our team can assist them in seamlessly migrating their existing infrastructure to Amazon Web Services (AWS), thereby capitalizing on the benefits of cloud computing while still utilizing HPE hardware.

The Latest U7 Phone’s Detailed Specifications Are as Follows:
1920 | 32,768 GiB | 160 Gbps | 200 Gbps |
In this scenario, Up to seven instances can be presented, offering up to two vCPUs and 1.6 times the EBS bandwidth compared to the largest U7i instance. You can seamlessly run your most demanding in-memory database workloads, such as SAP HANA, or effortlessly migrate existing HPE-based workloads to AWS.
This Ubuntu-based distribution enhances support for Amazon Linux, Red Hat Enterprise Linux, and SUSE Enterprise Linux Server.
The SAP HANA workload support system accommodates excessive memory situations, specifically supported on SUSE Linux Enterprise Server 15 Service Pack 3 (SP3) or later versions for SAP workloads, as well as Red Hat Enterprise Linux 8.6/9.0 or later versions for SAP workloads.
SAP licenses its Enterprise Suite to run on HANA (SoH) as well as Enterprise Suite S/4HANA in manufacturing settings, additionally permitting the use of Enterprise Warehouse on HANA (BW) and SAP BW/4HANA in these environments. When licensing occasion, U7inh can accommodate scale-out SAP HANA OLTP workloads similar to S/4HANA; up to four U7inh occasions (128 TB) can be deployed in a cluster for larger-scale SAP HANA workloads.
To further explore migrating to SAP HANA on AWS, refer to the SAP HANA on AWS Guides and the AWS Launch Wizard Consumer Information resources.
Amazon EC2 instances with the Nitro X1 instance type are available within the US East (Norfolk) region. A significant upgrade of connectivity in Virginia and Oregon, respectively, has been achieved by US West.
