Microsoft is now testing its AI-powered Recall function on AMD- and Intel-powered Copilot+ PCs enrolled in the Windows 11 Insider program.
The corporation finally launched the initial public preview of Recall on Snapdragon-powered Copilot+ PCs last month, following two previous delays.
Recall is a Windows function that captures periodic screenshots of active windows, analyzes them, and enables Windows 11 users to retrieve specific snapshots using natural language.
Despite initial excitement, concerns emerged that the technology could potentially be exploited by attackers to steal sensitive information. Microsoft developed a detachable function in Recall that necessitates verifying the user’s presence.
Users are also able to recall previously stored login information, including bank card numbers and passwords, as per Redmond’s guidelines, while also allowing them to exclude specific apps, websites, or in-private browsing sessions from being preserved.
Microsoft’s Vice President for Enterprise and Operating System Safety, David Weston, noted that the feature comprises anti-hammering and rate-limiting mechanisms, as well as controls allowing users to customize storage settings, purge snapshots, and toggle snapshot-saving functionality altogether.

“As part of our ongoing rollout of Recall in preview, we are pleased to announce that it is now supported in six major languages: Chinese (Simplified), English, French, German, Japanese, and Spanish.” “As part of our current rollout, we’re expanding the availability of Recall (Preview) through the Windows Insider Program to the European Economic Area (EEA),” Microsoft.
“With Copilot+ PCs’ advanced AI capabilities, users can quickly locate and access apps, websites, images, or documents by simply describing their content.”
With the rapid growth of preview capabilities, Microsoft now offers enhanced support for Picture Creator and Restyle Picture within the Microsoft Images app on Copilot+ PCs powered by both AMD and Intel processors, as well as Click to Do’s Recall feature, which provides options to assist with rewriting and summarizing text, and adjusting its tone to sound either more formal or more informal.
As of now, these updates are being rolled out to Windows Insiders in the Dev Channel following the installation of Windows 11 Insider Preview Build 26120.2510 (KB5048780).
