Matternet, a provider of urban logistics drone technology, has recently partnered with ANRA Technologies, a pioneer in developing Unmanned Aerial System Traffic Management (UTM) solutions. Matternet, a pioneer in autonomous delivery systems, is poised to revolutionize the use of unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs), or drones, by integrating Universal Tracking Module (UTM) capabilities into its proprietary software program designed specifically for managing large fleets of drones.
The new partnership builds upon the successful launch of a drone-based supply chain solution in Silicon Valley, which has recently gone live. This partnership will help accelerate the expansion of its drone infrastructure as it moves closer to realizing doorstep delivery capabilities. The House Supply Service has also been successfully piloted in the cities of Mountain View and Sunnyvale, California.
“With Matternet’s Silicon Valley hub firmly established, we’re intensifying efforts to expand our services to additional regions,” Andreas Raptopoulos, founder and CEO, said.
“Our partnership with ANRA Applied Sciences provides us with enhanced UTM capabilities, enabling us to scale our supply network while maintaining the highest security standards for Beyond Visual Line of Sight operations in shared airspace.” This enhances our vision for rolling out Matternet’s technology across all major cities and suburban areas in the United States and Europe.
The integration of UTM (Unmanned Aerial Traffic Management) options enables efficient management of Matternet drone flight paths, thereby reducing the risk of collisions with other aerial vehicles through strategic deconfliction and real-time monitoring. Furthermore, they will collaborate to integrate Matternet’s drones seamlessly into a comprehensive Unmanned Aerial Traffic Management (UTM) system. By integrating scalable operations safely and efficiently, corporations can seamlessly enter city airspace while meeting stringent regulatory demands.
“We’re thrilled to collaborate with Matternet and accelerate the development of city drone logistics.” By integrating our airspace administration capabilities, we aim to facilitate secure and environmentally friendly airspace operations, thereby enabling Matternet to scale its business while fostering interoperability with other clients such as public safety agencies that wish to fly in the same airspace,” Amit Ganjoo, CEO of ANRA Technologies, stated.
Matternet develops innovative, urban-focused drone delivery solutions for cities and suburbs. The company develops and deploys the Matternet M2 drone, coupled with the Matternet Software platform, utilizing its technology directly for customers or in collaboration with logistics providers like UPS. Matternet’s accomplishments encompass securing licenses for industrial Beyond Visual Line of Sight (BVLOS) drone delivery operations over urban areas in Switzerland, initiating regular revenue-generating operations within the United States, and achieving Standardization Agreement (SAG) Certification and Production Certification from the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA).
