I’ve struggled to get iCloud Drive working on my MacBook. When attempting to copy or transfer a file into iCloud Drive using Finder, I encounter an error (-36). When attempting to access a PDF stored in iCloud Drive using Preview or Numbers, I’m met with an error message stating “Couldn’t talk with a helper utility”?
I can access the contents of text files or PDFs stored in iCloud Drive using Fast Look, and upload a file to the cloud by copying it into iCloud Drive via the `ditto` command in Terminal.
Following previous discussions with similar topics, I tried disabling and re-enabling iCloud Drive syncing, but unfortunately, this approach yielded no improvement.
I can access my iCloud using the online interface, but I’d rather not.
I’ve created another user account on my Mac, configuring it to utilize iCloud with the same Apple ID, which operates seamlessly there. Regardless of any matter being tousled, it shall be confined solely within the confines of my own personal account and shall not spill over into other areas or individuals. However the place? Despite attempting to purge multiple cache and settings files bearing the name prefix “cloud”, I still experienced no improvement.
I am utilizing Ventura 13.6.9.
Similar issues persist upon booting in Secure Boot mode; the same anomalies recur when reverting to standard operation.
I finally managed to sign out of iCloud on my Mac and re-sign in successfully. The errors persist.
I was particularly struck by the notion of exploring Exercise Monitor for linked processes. There exists a program titled com.apple.iCloudHelper
