Like them apples: Marissa Mayer backs cooking app ReciMe in $1.5 million Seed spherical for US progress

Marissa Mayer, former CEO of Yahoo and one-time Googler, has joined forces with other prominent US investors to back Australian cooking app ReciMe with a $1.5 million seed investment, aimed at propelling its entry into the US market.

Begun as a lockdown venture by siblings Christine and Ivy Nguyen, along with their closest companion Will Kent. Launched in late 2021, the startup achieved a significant milestone by securing $500,000 in pre-Seed funding in 2022, backed by prominent investors including the Alice Anderson fund from LaunchVic and Jodie Imam, co-founder of Tractor Ventures.

Even Capital, a leading investor from New Zealand, spearheaded the latest funding round, with support from Mayer.
