Ruth Suehle

This month, we are pleased to announce the appointment of Ruth Suehle as our new president. She will succeed David Nalley as head of the open-source incubator, overseeing a community of 8,500 contributors across 300 projects.

Since 2020, Ruth has held the position of government vice chair at the ASF, where she played a key role in overseeing the production of the organization’s flagship event, previously known as ApacheCon. As director of open supply at the organization, she will continue to lead the establishment of its inaugural Open Source Program Office (OSPO), further solidifying her role in driving innovation and collaboration.

Her diverse open-source qualifications include: serving on advisory boards, working at the organization for 15 years, including in its OSPO, and holding positions on the governing board and technical steering committee of O3DF; contributing to Pink Hat Journal and ; and co-authoring “Raspberry Pi Hacks” (O’Reilly, 2013).

I’m honored to serve as the Apache Software Foundation’s new president, and I’m grateful for David’s dedication in this role. Open-source software has evolved significantly since the Apache Software Foundation’s inception, transforming from a niche concept to an integral foundation for nearly all modern software development, according to Suehle. As a result of this success, we are implementing fundamental changes across our entire organization, which will have far-reaching impacts on our distribution network and ultimately affect our customers. As the software landscape undergoes a pivotal transformation, I’m thrilled to spearhead the Apache Software Foundation’s trajectory towards this new frontier.

Louis Landry

Teradata has named Louis Landry as its next Chief Technology Officer. For over a decade, Landry has been a stalwart member of the team at the leading information warehousing and analytics vendor, having most recently served as Head of the Corporate’s Technology and Innovation Office, where he spearheaded advanced research and development initiatives within Teradata. After a quarter century at the helm, Landry takes the reins as Chief Technology Officer at Teradata, succeeding Stephen Brobst, who stepped down in January to assume the role at another prominent organization.

Prior to joining Teradata, Landry held roles at MicroStrategy, Sears Holdings, and eBay, where he spearheaded the development of an analytics platform for top sellers and an internal analytics-as-a-service initiative aimed at making the organization more data-driven. Landry’s tenure with the open-source community has been marked by significant contributions, primarily through his roles as challenge leader and improvement coordinator within the Joomla ecosystem. Challenge from 2005 to 2011. Landry holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science from Louisiana Tech University and a ReThink Technique Certification from Harvard Business School.

Ashley Puls

New Relic, a leading observability software provider, has elevated Ashley Puls to the role of chief architect, where she will be responsible for ensuring the reliability and architecture of the company’s innovative Clever Observability Platform.

Pulse brings over 15 years of engineering expertise to technology companies, having most recently served as Group Vice President of Engineering at a firm where she spearheaded initiatives that led to a 50%+ increase in New Relic’s reliability. With over a decade of experience at New Relic, she has excelled in a range of roles, including software engineer, workforce engineer, architect, and senior director.

According to Puls, New Relic boasts the most effective platform in the industry, with his background including a Bachelor of Science degree. With a Bachelor’s degree in Arithmetic from Haverford College and a Master’s degree in Computer and Information Science from the University of Pennsylvania. Our platform operates seamlessly around the clock, allowing us to scale alongside our clients’ needs and deliver timely solutions in real-time. In my new role, I will focus on establishing personal accountability within New Relic while charting a path forward for our innovative Clever Observability Platform. Our organisational framework is built around a robust and ambitious value proposition that fosters innovative momentum by expediting the speed of delivering value to customers.

Tom Lantzsch

Artificial Intelligence chip manufacturer has named Tom Lantzsch as its newest independent director. With four decades of experience in the tech industry under his belt, Lantzsch joins Cerebras, having recently served as Senior Vice President and General Manager of the Internet of Things (IoT) Group at Intel.

Lantzsch, who holds an M.S. with a Bachelor of Science in Finance from the Naveen Jindal School of Management at The University of Texas at Dallas With a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering from Michigan State University and 10 years at ARM, where he held the position of Government Vice Chairman of Technology. Prior to his current role, he also held the position of CEO at StarCore, following earlier tenures at Motorola and Texas Devices.

John Colson

The analytics vendor has appointed John Colson as its new Senior Vice Chairman of North American Sales, effective immediately. Colson joins ThoughtSpot from where he oversaw CRM Analytics, including Einstein Analytics. Under his leadership, the enterprise unit realized a significant milestone of over $600 million in annual recurring revenue.

Colson was launched under the leadership of new CEO Ketan Karkhanis, who had spent several years at Salesforce. Colson and Karkhanis spent nearly a decade collaborating at Salesforce before joining forces to propel ThoughtSpot’s AI-driven analytics business forward.

“With decades of experience in helping businesses harness the power of analytics, I’ve successfully transformed numerous enterprise challenges into compelling success stories,” Colson said. As ThoughtSpot’s leader, I’m excited to pioneer a modern approach within a business traditionally defined by outdated tools, and I relish the opportunity to build and cultivate a team passionate about propelling triumph for both our customers and organization. Ellen Ochoa

NVIDIA has appointed Ellen Ochoa to its Board of Directors. Sylvia Ochoa was a trailblazing figure in space exploration as the first Latina astronaut to venture into space, having previously served as the director of NASA’s Johnson Space Center in Houston. The addition broadens Nvidia’s board to a total of 13 members with her appointment.

Ochoa, 66, holds a B.S. with a degree in physics from San Diego State University and an M.S. and Ph.D. with a degree in electrical engineering from Stanford University. As a director at Service Company Worldwide, she chairs the compensation committee and serves on the investment committee, while at Mutual of America Financial Group, she sits on the nominating committee and product and marketing committees.

Catherine Williams

A leading transparency organization, dedicated to shedding light on the financial practices of various nonprofits, has welcomed Catherine Williams in her new role as the inaugural chief information officer. Sarah Williams has joined Candid as she left her role as Vice Chairman of Knowledge and Synthetic Intelligence at.

William, a Ph.D. holder in arithmetic from the University of Washington and a Bachelor’s degree holder in mathematics from Grinnell College, will support Candid in leveraging cutting-edge tools and expertise to deliver actionable data and insights that drive meaningful impact within the social sector.

“Candid’s primary goal is to reduce costs across the social sector by promoting data-driven decision-making and advocating for greater transparency,” Williams said. I’m excited to lead this talented team in driving Candid’s data innovation forward and building a more robust ecosystem for everyone.
