IDS Imaging Development Solutions GmbH, a leading provider of USB, GigE, and 3D cameras, has expanded its Ensenso product line with a cutting-edge new 3D camera. The latest camera boasts an ingenious blend of compactness and rugged industrial-grade construction, marrying a remarkably swift working distance to a broad area of view that’s unparalleled in its class.

The Ensenso 3D camera line from the corporation is versatilely applicable across a range of industries, including industrial automation, robotics, medical devices, and object detection/classification applications. IDS offers a precise and cost-effective 3D image processing solution that streamlines the deployment process.

The company’s newest digicam, designed specifically for bin-picking applications, has been unveiled by Obersulm, Germany-based Mepsa. Equipped with an impressive capacity to span wide areas, this entity excels at grasping items across expansive spaces, efficiently identifying and containing all components within its reach. The IDS suggests that its technology optimizes the pick-and-place process, thereby streamlining container emptying procedures.

The owner-managed firm develops innovative, modular camera concepts, as well as designs incorporating artificial intelligence capabilities. The company’s AI-powered picture processing platform, IDS NXT, unlocks fresh applications where traditional rule-based image processing capabilities are limited? The IDS claims that its all-in-one system enables end-users to leverage deep learning capabilities quickly and affordably.

IDS Imaging’s Ensenso B provides seamless integration.

The IDS attributes Ensenso B’s greatest strength to its ability to precisely detect objects even at very close proximity? The digital camera’s exceptional depth and expansive field of view enable a vast region where objects are precisely rendered, as the company has formally specified.

At a distance of approximately 30 centimeters (11.8 inches) from the digicam to the article, the Z-accuracy is typically around 0.1 millimeter (0.003 inch). The maximum working distance is approximately 2 meters (6.5 feet).

The Ensenso B sensor module ensures compliance with IP65/67 standards, withstanding harsh environmental conditions in industrial applications. The newly launched 3D camera boasts a compact footprint of just 120 x 56 x 104 mm (4.7 x 2.2 x 4 in.), making it an ideal fit for applications such as robotic arms, as highlighted by IDS.

The revolutionary new stereo vision system is now available and entering mass production.

Attendees at the upcoming commerce fair in Stuttgart, Germany will have the opportunity to experience firsthand the innovative features of our brand-new 3D digital camera in October. IDS intends to showcase the digicam within a practical system in Sales Area 8C60.
