Before taking any drastic measures, OnePlus has no intention of altering its winning formula or deviating from the proven system that initially propelled them to success. The new generation will inherit the same physical attributes, but will likely possess a leaner build. 

Nice shows with no crease

Some whispers suggest marginally larger displays for this iteration. We may see some minor upgrades, likely resulting in around half an inch of increased screen size on both the exterior and interior displays. While the device didn’t initially express a desire for larger screens, having a 6.3-inch exterior and 8-inch interior display panel, we wouldn’t dismiss the possibility of upgrading the screen size. What sets it apart from others will undoubtedly render the cellphone even more captivating, outshining its competitors in the process.  

I’m particularly thrilled about the prospect of a crease-free internal display screen. It appears that expectations are being set quite modestly, doesn’t it? Despite the availability of foldables in the US, just as the Galaxy Z Flip and Motorola Razr do, these devices still suffer from the annoying show-stopping notch that mars the internal display experience for me. The primary verdict seems sound in this instance; it’s likely the second-generation model will uphold its creaseless heritage. 

Energy overwhelming

Qualcomm’s latest flagship, the Snapdragon 8 Elite, can power its newest Android devices, marking a significant milestone with its debut as the first 3nm chipset available for Android-based phones and tablets. 

OnePlus flagship devices have consistently demonstrated exceptional performance capabilities. Throughout my personal experience with these matters, I’ve never felt the need for more. That’s largely due to OnePlus consistently opting for high-end Qualcomm processors in its flagship devices, and also owing to the brand’s highly optimized lightweight software interface. While it’s true the primary camera is only marginally behind due to the presence of the now-two-generations-outdated Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 processor onboard?

As the first to market with a device that seamlessly bridges the gap between traditional phones and tablets, this product sets the bar for future foldables, serving as a benchmark against which others will be judged.

Digital camera upgrades

While foldables typically don’t receive the most impressive camera systems, this is largely expected. That’s the reason why the limited space within constraints producers from installing the ideal hardware at their disposal, and I consider it top-notch. Regardless of the visuals, people are truly excited about foldables due to their unique form factor. Given that producers are aware of this, they frequently opt for a somewhat less impressive yet still effective digital camera setup.

Rumors persist that OnePlus may employ a triple-camera setup featuring three 50-megapixel sensors on the device’s rear. The brand-new digital camera setup will undoubtedly elevate the performance of the 48MP primary, 48MP ultra-wide, and 64MP 3x telephoto cameras found on the device; otherwise, why bother making changes at all?

According to rumors, OnePlus had considered equipping its device with a quad-camera array featuring an advanced periscope-style digital camera, but ultimately abandoned the idea due to concerns over thickness and its impact on the phone’s sleek design. 

I was quite pleased with my Hasselblad-tuned digital camera in the past. While it may not have been the most impactful effort, this initial attempt did show some promise, offering a wide range of versatility, impressive visuals, and several intriguing features to explore. Presumably, one would likely require some additional resources to achieve their goals effectively. 

While the current setup has its merits, increasing the number of cameras to four could yield a mutually beneficial outcome, enabling us to maintain a trio of cameras at the rear. 

Conclusion

Generally, the development is shaping up to be a significant milestone, and I’m thrilled with its progress so far. Among the numerous innovations set to revolutionize 2025, one device stands out as particularly captivating: a foldable unit that has piqued my curiosity to the point of eagerness, leaving me anxiously awaiting its tactile debut. 

Ultimately, success hinges on accurate pricing; if that holds true, this phone could establish itself as the new champion in the foldable market. 

The exceptional hardware, lightweight software program, and outstanding design may position it as a formidable force to be reckoned with, a serious competitor that even Samsung and Google would need to take seriously. 

Furthermore, with its subsequent foldable, OnePlus may demonstrate that the initial one wasn’t a coincidence but rather a deliberate effort to address the glaring issues with previous foldables, showcasing a mastery of design and execution.
