Hyundai’s N Imagination 74 Concept Likely Bound for Production?

A concept for a high-performance, electrified coupe appears increasingly likely to transition into production, given its mention in Hyundai’s strategy to debut 21 fully electric models by 2030. During Hyundai’s 2024 CEO Investor Day presentation, the company discussed its futuristic plans, including the Imaginative and prescient 74 concept car and other upcoming models such as the Genesis Magma idea.

The Hyundai N Imaginative and prescient 74 draws inspiration from the 1974 Pony Coupe concept designed by Giorgetto Giugiaro, the same visionary who worked on the iconic DMC DeLorean, and from the digital supercar, the Hyundai N 2025 Vision Gran Turismo. The Hyundai Kona Electric’s predecessor, the Imaginative and prescient 74, was originally envisioned as a pioneering hybrid hydrogen fuel cell vehicle; however, the production version might deviate substantially from the concept showcased thus far.

Hyundai’s comprehensive strategy encompasses a diverse portfolio of vehicles, spanning from affordable electric options such as the Inster/Casper subcompact and the forthcoming, three-row Ioniq 5, destined for the US market, to premium electric models from Genesis and high-performance variants. The corporation is considering a range of powertrain options, including internal combustion engines, hybrids, plug-in hybrids, electric vehicles, and hydrogen fuel cell cars.

While Hyundai executives remained silent on the concept’s immediate feasibility during the presentation, their decision to incorporate the N Imaginative and prescient 74 into their future lineup underscores the company’s commitment to realizing this innovative vision. Despite its potential to eventually showcase an ultimate kind and powerful powertrain, the actual market arrival may precede any significant advancements.
