The IEEE Day is celebrated annually on the first Tuesday in October. This year’s celebration saw unprecedented success, with more than 1,100 events taking place globally. Between 29 September and 12 October, eleven IEEE societies offered exclusive membership promotions to inspire professionals to join the IEEE community and deepen their understanding of their areas of interest.
Contests showcasing pictures and videos have proven to be highly effective in engaging participants and fostering creativity. More than 300 photographs and 140 films have been submitted thus far. At a recent AI Unlocked session held in Pune, India, approximately 50 college students participated. The event was hosted by the. An IEEE member, a professor of Electrical and Computer Engineering at the university, delivered a lecture on cybersecurity. He developed innovative solutions by combining microgrids with community-based management approaches and AI-driven techniques for identifying and mitigating cyber anomalies. More than 80 people attended the occasion.
In Bangalore, India, festive competitions have become an integral part of the celebrations, injecting a thrilling and competitive spirit into the events. A trivia contest on IEEE’s historical past, complemented by a chess tournament and a card game event. The event provided a setting where attendees could freely mingle while simultaneously examining members’ data and formulating strategies.
