Renowned tech insider Sonny Dickson has shared a picture purportedly showcasing the components of a speculated fourth-generation iPhone, potentially set to debut in early 2025.
The 2022 third-generation iPhone SE’s circumstances prominently feature a back cutout housing the single camera lens and flash, mirroring this design element on purported new cases.
A silent revolution in the current climate has become an established norm, and the leaked image suggests Apple will continue to uphold this status quo without exception.
The raised areas on the edges, controlling quantity up/down and energy levels, remain proportionally situated similar to their previous model counterparts. While that doesn’t necessarily mean outdated iPhone SE models won’t be compatible with the upcoming new model, it’s possible that some features or performance might be affected.
A fresh canvas awaits, blanketed by an unseen reality.
The supposed reason is that the forthcoming iPhone SE is allegedly grounded in the iPhone 14’s frame, rendering it an upgrade over its predecessors. It is rumored that the new device will feature a 6.1-inch display, significantly larger than its predecessor’s 5.45-inch screen with an LED-backlit panel.
Regardless of the fact that the back-camera cutout in Dickson’s leaked picture resembles the one on the 2022 iPhone SE, it is expected to feature a similar design. While boasting a 12MP selfie camera integrated into the Dynamic Island on the front, this device touts substantial enhancements.
The next-generation iPhone SE is likely to undergo significant changes, including the replacement of its outdated Lightning port with a more modern USB-C connector. Given the transfer to Face ID, the iPhone SE’s fourth generation is likely to incorporate, at minimum, select Dynamic Island features.
Despite this, rumors persist that the next-generation iPhone SE will bring significant upgrades, supposedly featuring an A18 processor and a substantial 8GB of RAM to support its improved capabilities.
The precise arrival date of the brand-new iPhone SE remains uncertain. According to industry standards and credible sources, the iPhone SE’s release timeline indicates that its launch is imminent.
If the majority of these rumors prove accurate, Apple might discontinue the older model from retail sale once the fourth-generation iPhone SE is released, given the similarities between the two designs. While there’s no confirmation on the fate of the iPhone 14 Plus, which is still currently available for purchase, it remains unclear if Apple will discontinue production of this model.
