TL;DR
- The Dynamic Coloration GBoard theme for Android is undergoing an update that makes only minor aesthetic changes.
- The accentuated non-letter keys currently share a uniform hue, presenting a cohesive visual appearance.
- No meaningful modifications appear to have been made to the contrasting ideas.
When you start typing on your device, you may notice something new with Gboard. The Dynamic Coloration theme for Google Keyboard (Gboard) has been replaced.
Initially observed to be altered by some users, the accented non-letter keys on Gboard’s Dynamic Colour theme display a distinct visual transformation. The changes apply to both the sunny and darker variations of the theme.
Prior to a recent update, the keyboard keys displaying information about the backspace, enter, interval, comma/emoji, ?123, shift, and menu buttons employed distinct color schemes. As evident in the left screenshot above, these colors represent various nuances of blue. Within the latest model of the Dynamic Coloration theme, the identical shades of blue currently unify the entire range of keys. Despite sharing a uniform aesthetic with the surrounding buttons, you’ll notice that they diverge significantly from the crisp white backdrop of the letter keys.
Google’s motives behind this Gboard adjustment remain shrouded in mystery. The outlet speculates that this redesign aims to minimize key distractions and create a more harmonious keyboard aesthetic.
The replacement exclusively affects the Dynamic theme, as the System Auto and Default settings continue to operate solely with the single accented enter key. The modification can reportedly be found in the latest Gboard beta, version 14.7.10.x. Despite appearances suggesting no significant changes are visible.
