GameStop is shifting its focus to retro video games in select locations. As the retail landscape continues to evolve, the company is wagering on a nostalgic approach. The GameStop Retro sections will stock physical consoles, games, and accessories from iconic Nintendo, PlayStation, Xbox, and Sega systems.
The retailer has unveiled Retro GameStop areas at select locations on Twitter. The company also offers a platform that allows employees to search for retro-style locations within a 100-mile radius. I stumbled upon an enormous hole, one foot in diameter, in the heart of my city.
GameStop’s Retro shops support a vast array of 18 traditional games that go all the way back to the iconic 8-bit era of the original Nintendo Entertainment System.
