Epic Games is introducing a significant alteration to its battle pass system, designed to alleviate frustration for players who are unable to purchase or complete a pass before the end of a season, thereby eliminating a potential source of anxiety?
Battle passes offer a diverse array of exclusive in-game rewards that can be obtained solely through progression during a single season; yet, this means players may entirely miss out on rewards if they fail to level up sufficiently or neglect to purchase the pass before it expires. To mitigate this stress, Epic has confirmed that items from previous battle passes will become available for purchase through their merchandise store at least 18 months following the pass’s expiration date.
Epic Games’ battle pass coverage adjustments aim to allow customers to buy outfits featuring licensed crossovers, even if they miss a season’s battle pass, according to the company’s blog post. Several high-profile skins, such as those of and, are currently only accessible to players who acquired earlier battle passes featuring these characters.
All items in a Fortnite battle pass are eligible for display in the item shop, including “Outfits, Back Blings, Pickaxes, Emotes, Devices, Decals, Wraps, Loading Screens, Banner Icons, and more.” However, items from battle passes will not be guaranteed to appear in the item shop after an 18-month window; therefore, if you see something you want in a pass, it’s likely best to acquire it while the pass is still available.
