Filigran secures $35 million in Series B funding to accelerate cybersecurity innovation.

Filigran, a European cyber tech agency, has recently concluded a funding round led by software-focused investor Perception Partners, alongside existing backers Accel and Moonfire.

The recent $16 million Series A funding by Filigran is followed swiftly by this additional capital injection, enabling the company to accelerate its progress, growth, and product enhancement endeavors. The Collection B funding will enable the corporation to further its strategic expansion in the US and Pacific regions, with a primary focus on accelerating the development of AI and knowledge engineering products.

Filigran was founded in 2022 and offers an XTM suite featuring open-source platforms such as OpenCTI and OpenBAS. The platform is engineered to empower organizations by providing a comprehensive framework for threat detection, real-time incident response, and strategic cybersecurity planning.

Companies such as Airbus, Marriott, Thales, Hermès, Rivian, and Bouygues Telecom leverage Filigran’s capabilities globally. Public sector organizations on the company’s roster include the European Commission, the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), the New York City Cyber Command, US and Australian federal agencies, the Netherlands National Police Corps, as well as various European government ministries.

The corporation’s open-source initiatives enjoy the backing of a community comprising more than 4,300 cybersecurity experts and collaborators. The XTM suite seamlessly integrates OpenCTI, constructing and operationalising threat intelligence. Additionally, OpenBAS leverages real-time threat intelligence to ensure rigorous safety verification. The platforms provide a comprehensive view of potential vulnerabilities to help organisations enhance and strengthen their cybersecurity measures effectively.

The funding will enable the development of enhanced XTM options, specifically designed to bolster the suite’s capabilities in threat-driven threat evaluation and deception techniques, effectively addressing emerging cybersecurity threats.

As the CEO of Filigran, Samuel Hassine brings a wealth of experience to the role, boasting over 15 years of expertise in cyber threat intelligence and crisis management, having previously served as Director of Safety Technology at Tanium and Head of Threat and Risk Analysis at French cybersecurity agency ANSSI. With over two decades of experience in leading engineering teams and driving software innovation, CTO Julien Richard has built a reputation as a seasoned veteran in the tech industry. As Vice-President of Engineering at YOOi and Director of Engineering at Axway, he held prominent roles in leading engineering teams.

Notably, securing the Collection B funding marks a significant milestone for Filigran, showcasing its remarkable growth and achievement in a relatively brief period. Our mission is to democratize access to menace intelligence, empowering organizations to turn insights into informed action. “This new funding will enable us to expand our mission at a larger scale,” said Hassine.

With the introduction of its open-source XTM suite, Filigran has revolutionized the way safety groups approach threat intelligence, seamlessly integrating OpenCTI and OpenBAS capabilities. Crissy Costa Behrens, Principal at Perception Companions, notes that this funding will facilitate the company’s international expansion and enhance its products.
