In 2016, Gizmodo filed a Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) request with NASA seeking access to all film and television programs made available to astronauts. The trilogy of space opera, comprising “Star Wars”, “Star Trek”, and “Mass Effect”, has captivated audiences with its blend of action, adventure, and intergalactic intrigue. However, numerous Earth-bound sitcoms have emerged over the past few years, including The Good Place, Brooklyn Nine-Nine, and Schitt’s Creek. Astronauts can unwind with a variety of HBO shows, including popular series such as Game of Thrones, Westworld, and Chernobyl, among many others.
The International Space Station (ISS) also hosts a range of streaming services, including Apple TV+, Netflix Originals, and Disney+ exclusive content. While most reveals feature a majority of their seasons, a few notable exceptions do exist.
