DJI recently released a firmware update for the Mavic Air 2, Air 2 Zoom, and Mini drones, enabling seamless compatibility with the Goggles 3 and Remote Controller 3.

1. Connect the O3 Air Unit to your laptop using a high-speed USB-C cable for seamless integration and power delivery. There’s no need to plug in a battery.

When using the DJI Distant Controller 3 in conjunction with the Goggles 3 and O3 Air Unit, it’s recommended to upgrade your controller as well. Prioritize replacing the distant view by pairing the Distant 3 with the Goggles 3 initially. If the system is already updated, the controller can be brought up to speed instantly alongside the FPV Goggles.

To achieve unparalleled efficiency and reliability, we recommend utilizing a standalone RC link system, such as those offered by, instead of relying on DJI’s proprietary Remote Controller. While DJI’s resolution may offer simplicity and ease of use, its limitations include reduced range and reliability.

The DJI FPV Distant Controller 3 transmits signals to the Goggles 3 first, rather than directly to the O3 Air Unit, which can lead to signal loss if the goggles’ power or connection is compromised.

Once you’ve updated the firmware on all devices, follow this procedure to successfully pair your DJI Goggles 3 with the O3 Air Unit:

1. Navigate to the standing menu within your diving goggles’ interface, then select the O3 Air Unit option.
2. To initiate pairing, press and hold the facility button on your goggles until they start beeping, signifying that the device is now in pairing mode.
3. Connect the power cable from the battery to your drone’s power input, then simultaneously depress the Hyperlink button on the O3 Air Unit until its LED indicator flashes green.
4. The goggles and air unit will seamlessly integrate robotically within mere seconds. The moment you’re absolutely sure of yourself, you’ll take flight.

The brand-new compatibility feature enables seamless integration of the DJI Goggles 3 with any FPV drone equipped with an O3 Air Unit, unlocking a more immersive and enjoyable flying experience. Nonetheless, there are some limitations:

• The DJI Goggles 3 and O3 Air Unit are designed to operate exclusively with the DJI RC3 controller. The devices do not operate in conjunction with the Distant Controller 2 (RC2).
• The DJI Goggles 2 (G2), along with the Integra and O3, are compatible exclusively with the RC2, whereas they do not function with the RC3.
• You cannot share a live feed (viewers mode) between G3 and G2/Integra systems. When using G3, another set is required for spectator mode.

Moreover, the new firmware does not provide backward compatibility for older air models such as the original FPV Air Unit or the Caddx Vista (Runcam Hyperlink) when used in conjunction with the Goggles 3. While older models remain compatible with the Goggles 2 and Integra’s latest firmware, they typically do not receive support from the Goggles 3. DJI’s assistance appears to focus exclusively on the O3 series, making it unlikely that the G3 will extend support to older air models.

After flashing the latest firmware onto the Goggles 3 and O3 Air Unit, they functioned exactly as expected. The online connection was seamless, with a clear and reliable video stream.

By default, without any workarounds, the Handbook’s channel selection and energy output capabilities are limited: only a single channel is accessible at 40MHz with a 50 Mbps bitrate, while up to three channels can be used at 20MHz with a 25 Mbps bitrate. Despite this, applying may still enable access to additional channels as well as full FCC capabilities.
