Why can’t my laptop computer detect a specific local area network (LAN) device using its IP address?

At home, I have a Synology machine situated in my residence. 192.168.1.180. My iPhone can seamlessly connect to the machine via IP address when connected to WiFi without requiring any additional authentication. My laptop computer, connected to the same WiFi network, fails to:

  • Using a Synology app on your cellphone effectively connects you to the desired IP address, delivering reliable results. When I attempt to use the Equal app on my laptop, it consistently fails to connect.

  • When accessing the IP address in Safari on my cellphone, I’m presented with a login prompt. If you enter the IP address in Safari on your laptop, it is likely to crash or freeze occasionally. When I access the IP address in Chrome on my laptop, I quickly receive an ERR_ADDRESS_INVALID display screen.

Terminal output revealing insights into laptop’s system configuration and performance.

I have VPN software installed on my laptop computer and phone, but none are currently active. I’m uncertain about what to search for right now to determine how a VPN might be interfering with my online activities?
