The DataRobot Belong Group, Ladies@DR, was created to bring together women and allies at DataRobot, fostering a supportive community that provides resources, networking opportunities, and collective encouragement. We’ve collectively commemorated achievements and milestones, fostered trust-based settings where colleagues can offer mutual support during challenging times, and established safe zones for open communication, idea-sharing, and creative problem-solving.

As we celebrate Women’s History Month and International Women’s Day in March, we look to our team of powerful, resilient, and talented women leaders to pave the way forward. At our inaugural World Firm Kick-Off in February 2024, seven exceptional young women were honored as DataRobot AI Legends. Their achievements have been recognized as a testament to the very essence of DataRobot’s core values and unwavering commitment to excellence, embodying the company’s highest standards of quality and dedication.
We sat down with pioneers in their field and posed questions designed to inspire others to follow in their footsteps.

As I navigated my professional journey, I focused on cultivating confidence and resilience by embracing humility, actively seeking out new challenges, surrounding myself with a network of supportive peers who offered guidance and mentorship, and concentrating on the meaningful impact my work had on others. Embracing the dynamic nature of life and career trajectories as opportunities for growth rather than roadblocks has been crucial. With this mindset, I’ve successfully navigated uncertainty, converted setbacks into learning opportunities, and cultivated a consistent habit of study and adaptability.
As young women starting their professional journeys, I suggest embracing your unique path without comparing yourself to others? As you navigate life’s twists and turns, remember that embracing change can lead to invaluable learning experiences that hone your skills and guide you towards a more fulfilling future. Cultivate a mindset of constructive intention by seeking to understand the underlying drivers and motivations of those around you, including colleagues and friends. By fostering a collaborative atmosphere, this approach empowers the establishment of profound and authentic relationships among colleagues. As you navigate the complexities of life, cultivate an openness to diverse perspectives, embracing each fresh opportunity to grow and adapt, while acknowledging the unique strengths and unshakeable resolve that define your journey.
As I restarted my day with a clear objective in mind, every action I took became a deliberate step towards achieving it, allowing me to maintain a bird’s-eye view of my goals and navigate obstacles with greater resilience. I’ve learned to quiet my mind and repeat the mantra ‘time is elastic, one second expands and contracts’ whenever anxiety creeps in.
As novel opportunities arise, I’ve found myself embracing unconventional paths, despite initial doubts about my capabilities, leading to a diverse array of professional experiences that have been both enriching and thought-provoking. This newfound confidence in myself empowers me to tackle unfamiliar challenges head-on, undaunted by the uncertainty of not having all the answers immediately.
I firmly believe in investing time and resources in building relationships and cultivating champions across the organization, as this invaluable skillset is essential for driving results and exercising influence. By doing so, one can expect a profound, lasting impact that permeates every move made.
As I continue to learn and grow, I’ve come to understand that true confidence stems from recognizing that mastery is not the ultimate goal for me. By adopting a growth-oriented mentality, I opt to cultivate a lifelong learning approach, fostering self-assurance through meaningful interactions with individuals who can mentor me on new topics, as well as reciprocating by sharing my own knowledge with others.
When discussing resilience within specific contexts, I’ve found that gaining a broader perspective by zooming out can be incredibly valuable in fostering a deeper understanding of the concept. By reframing intense moments as mere episodes within the grand narrative of your career, you’ll maintain momentum and avoid getting bogged down in the present instant. It’s perfectly acceptable to seek help or clarification when needed, taking time to prioritize self-care and mental well-being if required.
Spend quality time understanding yourself, identifying your core strengths, and pinpointing areas where you can make a meaningful impact. Then, annually, take on something that pushes you out of your comfort zone – the key to unlocking personal growth and fulfillment. Having a correct mindset can propel you significantly forward as you build and refine your skills. Emulate those whose expertise and achievements inspire you, and don’t hesitate to seek guidance from them. As time goes on, you will possess the ability to bestow a similar gift upon someone else.
Building confidence and resilience necessitates a sustained effort, garnered support from others, both professionally and personally, and an abundance of arduous labor. My confidence and resilience stem primarily from my grandmother, a remarkable individual who had faced numerous obstacles and setbacks throughout her life, yet remained steadfast in her determination to persevere through challenges and emerge triumphant in the face of adversity. From a young age, she instilled in me the value that when women are well-educated, work tirelessly, and demonstrate admirable work ethic, regardless of their chosen path, they can achieve anything they set their minds to – as long as they believe in themselves. Throughout my life, my mother has served as my most ardent supporter, and I am deeply thankful to her for that unwavering encouragement. As I strive to emulate her example with my own daughter, I will aim to instill in her the same sense of confidence and pride.
Crafting comprehensive assistance frameworks that synergize individual and collective expertise to empower individuals in navigating life’s complexities requires careful consideration of various factors.
To develop an effective support network, identify key stakeholders, assess their unique strengths, and allocate responsibilities accordingly. Through stepping outside my comfort zone, I’ve found opportunities in tasks that were once daunting. By embracing uncertainty and taking calculated risks, individuals establish a strong foundation for growth, as they’re willing to learn from their mistakes and adapt accordingly.
As I ventured into my professional journey, I found that cultivating curiosity on a regular basis proved instrumental in allowing me to delve deeper into the intricacies of my roles and responsibilities. Continuously seeking and incorporating feedback from others enabled me to streamline my workflow, while maintaining a strong sense of motivation and dedication led to the development of a robust work ethic – one that consistently pushed me to challenge myself and strive for excellence, ultimately yielding remarkable results that spoke for themselves.
