Last year, A3C (Ashton Kutcher, Guy Oseary, and Effie Epstein), the Beverly Hills-based venture capital firm founded by Ashton Kutcher, announced a new $265 million artificial intelligence fund that placed significant bets on major language model companies, including OpenAI, Anthropic, and Hugging Face.
In reality, the plan was to invest in just six companies—a bold but potentially lucrative bet on the team’s vision for the future, where only a select few would reap the rewards due to the technical expertise required and capital needed to cover compute costs.
Since then, Sound has successfully secured additional funding for the same charitable cause.

Kutcher has arguably navigated the transition from entertainment to investing more effortlessly than anyone else in Hollywood, commencing his entrepreneurial journey in 2010 with the launch of A-plus, a venture founded alongside expertise manager and business partner Guy Oseary, whose prescient investments in Airbnb and Uber solidified their reputation for timing deals perfectly.
Two entrepreneurs, who founded Sound Ventures in 2014, brought Jeffrey Epstein on board several years later to leverage his expertise and expand their own talent networks. Epstein beforehand led world technique on the Marsh & McLennan subsidiary Marsh. Prior to joining the company, she held senior positions at iHeartMedia, including Senior Vice President of Planning and Head of Investor Relations.
Prior to joining the firm, Epstein had a distinguished career in funding banking, particularly in the energy sector, where he developed a broad range of expertise and cultivated valuable connections that would inform his work at the company.
