Apple has empowered hundreds of scholars globally by providing them with a platform to showcase their innovative thinking and develop practical skills that can be applied in real-world settings. The Problem enables college students to join a global community of developers using Swift – the same programming language employed by industry experts – to craft the next generation of innovative applications.
Submissions for the 2025 Swift Student Program will open in February and remain open for three consecutive weeks. Higher education stakeholders can learn how to prepare for the registration process and receive timely notifications when applications become available. Apple will officially recognize approximately 350 students from the Swift Pupil Problem competition who have demonstrated exceptional innovation, creativity, social impact, and inclusivity in their entries. Fifty distinguished winners from this esteemed group will receive additional recognition and be invited to visit Apple’s headquarters in Cupertino next summer.

Apple will unveil updated resources to help college students prepare for the Swift Student Challenge by building community and developing skills for a future career in programming. The Swift Coding Membership starter kit provides tools to fuel college students’ passion for app development, further exploring Swift and SwiftUI as they share their enthusiasm with peers.
By offering college students an exceptional starting point to a career in app development using Swift, SwiftUI, and Xcode – Apple’s native development environment – students can build cutting-edge apps for all Apple platforms.
