As Apple Maps discharges new features for, , and , the platform is unveiling enhanced tools to help users uncover hidden gems and revisit their favorite destinations.
Eddy Cue, Senior VP of Services at Apple, remarks that Apple Maps is a top-notch navigation tool, poised to offer an enhanced experience for users through the latest updates. “Maps simplifies the planning process, delivering a delightful experience with richly detailed and expertly curated options, a hallmark of Apple’s dedication to excellence.”
Potential hikers can explore a vast collection of over 500 trails across the United States, offering endless opportunities to discover new destinations and plan unforgettable adventures. Explore America’s breathtaking nationwide parks – spanning from Acadia in Maine to Yosemite in California, and Denali in Alaska – all at your fingertips on iPhone, iPad, Mac, and Apple Watch. To navigate the perfect trail, customers can refine their search by filtering hikes according to route type, terrain complexity, and altitude gain, while following step-by-step directions to ensure they stay on course. Customers can store hikes offline on their Apple Watch for later use. From now on, Google Maps also features bus schedules for select national parks, including Bryce Canyon National Park in Utah and Sequoia National Park in California.
Topographic maps are now also available for the US on your iPhone and Apple Watch. and Japan, boasting stunning details such as contour lines, pathway specifics, and more.
For the first time, Maps users worldwide can now create and save personalized hiking and walking routes in their desired destinations. Visitors can customize their journeys according to personal tastes, whether embarking on a leisurely exploration of a fresh city or a challenging trek through a nearby natural reserve. With seamless syncing on their Apple Watch, users could access customized routes even in areas without cellular or Wi-Fi connectivity, mirroring the experience of hiking trails within national parks.
With effortless ease, customers can now track their favorite destinations and uncover hidden gems. On iPhone, iPad, and Mac, users can now store saved locations, curated Maps Guides, national park trails, and personalized routes within an innovative Locations Library, and attach personal notes to each.
With advanced search capabilities, customers can quickly discover and assess destinations by exploring visual content, ratings, price tiers, and more, all from within the search results. The latest “Search nearby” button in Google Maps enables users to quickly find specific destinations within a certain radius, including restaurants, coffee shops, gas stations, and other points of interest.
