The Clear Up feature enables customers to select and remove objects from a photograph without altering the underlying image. The system employs artificial intelligence to create a realistic background when an object is removed from a digital image. Apple claims its system can accurately detect and process even subtle aspects such as shadows or reflections, seamlessly integrating them into the background.
Customers can easily select and remove an object using a single tap. Individuals are able to discreetly remove unwanted items by circling or brushing over them, effectively erasing them from the image.
Google made its Photos service available to all users at no cost last year, countering Apple’s rival offering.
