Apple honors America’s treasured national parks with a thoughtfully crafted Apple Pay donation marketing campaign, seamlessly integrating it with innovative discoveries through Apple Maps.
By August 25, Apple will donate $10 to the National Park Foundation for every purchase made through Apple using Apple Pay.
Because the U.S. As the National Park Service commemorates its 108th anniversary, Apple is paying tribute by introducing innovative tools to support the conservation of America’s treasured parks. As of August 25, in conjunction with its back-to-school promotion, Apple will donate $10 to the National Park Foundation for every purchase made using Apple Pay on the Apple Store app or in-store at a U.S.-based Apple Store.1 This autumn, Apple Maps is poised to revolutionize outdoor exploration by providing seamless access to information on thousands of hikes across the country’s national parks, making it easier than ever for customers to plan their next adventure.
Since 2014, Apple has been committed to supporting the National Park Foundation’s conservation initiatives through its employee volunteer program, demonstrating an enduring dedication to preserving and promoting America’s treasured national parks for generations to come.
The “Nature Awaits” playlist, currently playing in retail stores across the country, shares content and assets that bring customers closer to treasured locations – from serene soundscapes to more than 30 stunning scenes curated by the National Park Foundation.

The National Park Foundation supports projects across the country, ensuring America’s national parks remain places where nature flourishes and visitors can learn and explore. Programmes such as Subject Science and ParkVentures are establishing conduits for young people to engage in experiential learning experiences and explore STEM career trajectories, simultaneously addressing barriers to access and participation in parks? Through its support, Apple’s philanthropic efforts have enabled the EcoLogik Institute to drive forward innovative initiatives that empower park champions and advance their crucial mission.
This summer, the group collaborates with Cabrillo National Monument in San Diego, California, to support younger explorers and scientists aged 10-16, fostering a deeper connection to nature and inspiring them to become future scientists, engineers, innovators, and leaders capable of making a positive impact. Through hands-on apprenticeships and diverse work experiences, members gain valuable, real-world expertise in various pure assets science professions.
At just 17, Addison Shapiro’s experience at EcoLogik camp proved life-changing, enabling her to take a leading role in innovative fieldwork methods and contribute significantly to species monitoring surveys at Cabrillo. Addison praised EcoLogik for transforming her neighborhood into a thriving community, stating, “They’ve given me a tremendous neighborhood.” “I’ve formed countless lasting friendships and encountered trailblazing women in STEM who not only have expanded my worldview but also inspired me to forge a career in the life sciences.”

Together with Apple’s support, we’re empowering women to envision a future where every individual can picture themselves in roles like scientists, park rangers, and countless other aspirations.
This autumn, Apple Maps will debut innovative features to help users explore and navigate the globe. Throughout U.S. Across the nation’s parks, users can explore thousands of trails on interactive maps, narrowing their search by factors such as trail length, elevation gain, and route type, and then follow detailed, step-by-step directions. As well as customers across the United States. Discover detailed topographic maps on your iPhone, featuring contour lines, trail information, and more. To further enhance their journeys, they will create bespoke walking itineraries catering to individual tastes, ranging from challenging uphill treks to serene nature strolls. Nationwide park hikes and customised routes can be saved and accessed offline, allowing for seamless navigation even when out of cell service or Wi-Fi range.
This week, Apple customers can experience the characters, history, and heritage of national parks in a unique way from the comfort of their own homes or while on an adventure. As of August 25, Apple Watch users globally are eligible to receive a unique badge and customizable animated emojis in the Messages app upon completing any workout lasting at least 20 minutes.
As part of its global commitment to support communities and protect the environment, Apple’s initiatives aim to enable people to fully appreciate and access national parks across the country. Currently, Apple has achieved carbon neutrality across its global corporate operations, with significant strides made toward realizing its ambitious goal of becoming carbon neutral throughout its entire supply chain and product lifecycle by the end of the decade.
