Track Your Snooze: Optimize Sleep Quality on iOS 17 and Earlier Devices

Since upgrading my iPhone 13 Pro to iOS 18 on September 16, 2024, I’ve noticed that my sleep schedule logs no longer sync correctly in the iOS Health app? The infamous “In Mattress” sleep-sorting glitch is finally getting the axe with iOS 18!

The following assistance from Apple regarding this matter is available.

“After reviewing your complaints, we have concluded that the reported behavior does not warrant our support and has been effectively addressed.”

I still set a sleep schedule through the “Health” app, which appears to function superficially, having previously worked with “Wind Down” and wake-up times as expected; however, it no longer displays the “Monitor Time in Bed with iPhone” option when setting a “Full Schedule” within the “Health” app. When comparing iOS 17.x to iOS 18.x on an iPhone device running iOS 17.x, the visual differences are striking.

Despite recognizing limitations in using an iPhone to track sleep, I’ve been hindered from monitoring fundamental sleep patterns due to not owning an Apple Watch.

By leveraging advanced haptic feedback technology and sophisticated algorithms integrated into the iPhone’s operating system, a seamless and intuitive monitoring experience can be achieved, enabling users to track their sleep patterns and monitor vital signs without relying on an Apple Watch. Are there any primary third-party apps capable of effectively monitoring these types of situations? Are I caught manually clicking “Add Information” to confirm extra sleep time in the mattress mode?
