The Samsung Galaxy S24 FE has been listed on the Bluetooth website, bringing our hub’s information up to date with this latest development.

While Samsung is often associated with its premium flagship devices, the company has also garnered attention for producing several notable smartphones in recent years. Among the most alluring alternatives to a Samsung flagship is its “FE” series, formerly known as “Fan Edition” phones. Typically, these budget-friendly phones offer comparable specifications and performance to the flagship Galaxy S series, albeit at significantly lower price points, achieved through compromises such as a polycarbonate body and some minor specification adjustments. As Samsung’s highly anticipated Galaxy S24 FE approaches, here are all the key details we’ve gathered so far about this exciting new device.

  • No official date has yet been announced, but. Despite rumors to the contrary, whispers of a delayed release now point to a potential debut in late 2024.
  • This year’s FE edition may potentially feature Galaxy AI capabilities, Gorilla Glass Victus Plus, and a cutting-edge processor upgrade.
  • Are we prepared for pricing information, anticipating a range of $599 to $699?

While Samsung has maintained a consistent naming convention with its Galaxy series, including the ‘FE’ moniker for mid-range variants, there’s no concrete information available about a potential Galaxy S24 FE at this point. However, given Samsung’s history of releasing such devices, it wouldn’t be surprising if they followed suit and introduced an affordable Galaxy S24 FE variant in the future.

Although Samsung hasn’t officially confirmed the Galaxy S24 Ultra, it’s increasingly likely that another model will follow. While the Galaxy A series may follow a conventional numbering pattern, Samsung deliberately chose to exclude the Galaxy A55 from its US market lineup. That transforms the Galaxy S FE series into a compelling low-budget flagship offering. Given that there hasn’t been a new model released previously? Despite the pandemic’s impact on many aspects of life at that time?

Leaks emerging throughout 2024 have revealed details such as the codename (R12), specifications, colors, and a tentative launch window. The Samsung SM-S721U model specification has been listed on EE’s UK database, confirming its availability. The device is listed on the Bureau of Indian Standards’ (BIS) certification website, bearing model number SM-S721B/DS. The Samsung Galaxy S21 Ultra emerged on store shelves in August, sporting a model number of SM-S721U.

Despite numerous leaks and listings, Samsung’s confirmation came in the form of a brief appearance of a support webpage for the model number on Samsung France’s website, effectively outing the device.

There is overwhelming evidence at this stage to confidently conclude that the machine not only exists but is also more likely to function efficiently and promptly.

Samsung’s Galaxy S24 series is expected to debut in February 2024, with the Galaxy S24 FE possibly launching around March or April. However, these dates are speculative and subject to change.

It seems likely that Samsung will release a Galaxy S24 FE, but pinpointing an exact launch date proves more challenging. We are claiming that it may arrive as early as this summer season. With the midpoint of the season swiftly approaching, time is rapidly running out to redeem this forecast. The rumour also suggests that its release won’t be visible until late 2024 or possibly early 2025. A fresh report suggests a potential data breach may occur in October, consistent with the company’s established trend of experiencing such incidents.

Accessible markets are expected to include those where the cellphone’s model number has been registered with databases of a UK service provider and an Indian regulatory authority, suggesting its likelihood of availability in these countries. Unlikely to escape notice, the Galaxy S23 FE will likely be widely available everywhere the S23 FE was previously on offer, including the United States.

Samsung Galaxy S24 FE series may feature 5.8-inch to 6.2-inch Dynamic AMOLED displays with Quad HD+ resolutions, Exynos 2300 or Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 processors, up to 12GB RAM and 512GB internal storage, triple-camera setups with 50MP primary sensors, 32MP front cameras, Android 13-based One UI out-of-the-box, and support for 25W fast charging, IP67 water resistance.

The primary objective of the FE sequence is to bring the popular features from the latest flagship technology lineup to a more affordable device, replicating the best-loved options at a lower price point. This option offers a few compromises to make it more budget-friendly, potentially yielding additional value. While sharing similarities with the Galaxy S24, the S24 FE will notably diverge in several key aspects. The whispers surrounding this mid-range marvel have piqued our interest – let’s dive deeper into the murmurs and morsels of information that promise to reveal more about its tantalizing price point.

Design

The company’s approach to designing the FE sequence is intentionally understated, avoiding any flashy or attention-grabbing tactics. Typically, these smartphones merely adopt the flagship’s design aesthetic, dubbing it a derivative product with little innovation. While the S21 FE featured a camera bump similar to its flagship counterpart’s, this design quirk was eliminated in the S23 FE, which instead opted for a more streamlined aesthetic inspired by the S23 series. The likelihood of the Galaxy S24 FE being identical is more probable.

At the Auto Shanghai exhibition in June, we got our first glimpse of what the S24 FE could possibly look like. It’s undeniable that at first glance, this device bears a striking resemblance to Samsung’s S23 FE model. The similarity in design between the S23 and S24 sequences could potentially justify this approach. The device features a triple-camera setup at its rear and comes in a lightweight green hue, reminiscent of the Mint colour introduced on last year’s model with minimal variations. The new flagship smartphone’s dimensions are reportedly a compact 162mm by 77.3mm by 8mm.

As news of the leak broke, whispers began circulating about a related phenomenon. While Samsung often plays it safe with the Galaxy F series’ design, it does exhibit a willingness to take calculated risks when it comes to bold color options. Accessible colours that may mitigate the spread of the rumour could potentially include shades of yellow, soft green, soft blue, grey, and black. Samsung typically assigns distinctive names to its colour options, but those names remain undisclosed at this time. The FE edition released last year featured a distinctive dual-color scheme exclusive to Samsung’s official retailers, although it remains uncertain whether this will be replicated in 2024.

According to allegedly leaked promotional materials, further details regarding the design have emerged. Apparently, the Galaxy S24 FE will feature a robust design with the back and front of the device protected by Gorilla Glass Victus Plus, providing enhanced scratch resistance and durability. The phone’s physical structure can be encased in a seemingly metal body with a stylish finish.

The device is expected to feature a 6.7-inch Full HD+ display, with a slender 1.99mm frame surrounding it. The bezel seems unlikely to gain significant territory as it has already accomplished this feat in past years. This display is said to offer a 120Hz refresh rate and boasts up to 1,900 nits of brightness.

Specs

Multiple detailed leaks have emerged regarding the Samsung Galaxy S24 FE’s specifications. The first images to emerge were captured by a digital camera array. Across each generation preceding this one, the device will feature three cameras on its rear panel, accompanied by a dedicated selfie camera at the front. Reports suggest that the primary camera of this device could feature a 50-megapixel ISOCELL GN3 sensor, measuring 1/1.57 inches and boasting 1.0-micrometer pixels, identical to that found in the standard S24 model.

Meanwhile, any stray wires or components could have been neatly stowed away in the camera’s crevices. According to reports, the S24 FE features a dual-camera setup at the back, comprising a 12MP ultra-wide-angle sensor and an 8MP telephoto lens with 3x optical zoom capabilities, while the front-facing camera may boast a resolution of 10MP. These details were further substantiated by an advertisement render below, as mentioned earlier in the leaks.

Beneath its surface, we expect it to boast a powerful processor, likely in the form of a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 SoC or a similarly capable Exynos chip. In some regions, the Galaxy S24 FE may require a SIM card or an SD card, depending on the area. This potential departure marks a divergence from the S23 FE, which employed flagship chips that were a year old.

If it’s equipped with an Exynos 2400 chip, the cellphone may receive a slightly modified version of the processor. Although it’s uncertain whether this is a typographical error, every indication suggests that the intended phrase should read “each says”, rather than “each and”.

What would make Samsung Galaxy S24 FE a dream device for you? Here’s what I’d love to see:

A more powerful processor that could handle demanding tasks and games with ease
At least 8GB RAM, preferably 12GB or more to multitask seamlessly
Triple-camera setup with improved zoom capabilities (up to 5x), better low-light performance, and enhanced portrait mode
Longer battery life, ideally above 5000mAh capacity to keep me connected throughout the day
Wireless charging support at the very least, and maybe even reverse wireless charging for wirelessly charging other devices
IP68 water-resistance to protect my device from accidental splashes or rain
Slightly larger screen size around 6.3-6.5 inches with higher refresh rate (90Hz or more) for smoother visuals

In the meantime, speculation suggests that the forthcoming cellphone will boast a substantial 4,565mAh battery, capable of supporting an impressive 78 hours of uninterrupted audio playback or up to 29 hours of high-quality video streaming. This could potentially increase the battery size by just a slight margin above the 4,500mAh capacity found in the S23 FE. While positioning the S24 FE between its siblings in terms of battery size, this could actually put it comfortably between the S24’s 4,000mAh cell and the S24 Plus’s 4,900mAh unit.

Different

Samsung has made a significant investment in generative AI, with Galaxy AI taking center stage as the key feature of its upcoming S24 series. It’s unlikely to surprise anyone if the S24 FE inherits various Galaxy AI features similar to Portrait Studio, Circle to Search, Generative Edit, and Dwell Translate capabilities. Out of the box, we expect the smartphone to run on one UI 6.1.1, Samsung’s adaptation of Android 14. Based on current trends and data, it appears that If the Samsung rumor mill proves accurate for the 2025 flagship lineup, we may see the debut of One UI 7, underpinned by Android 15.

The Samsung Galaxy S24 FE could be priced around $699-$799.

So far, no trustworthy rumors have emerged regarding the Galaxy S24 FE’s value. Unfortunately, it is impossible to determine the value of this year’s model with certainty. Although earlier versions have established a framework, we can still rely on that foundation to provide a forecast.

Since the Galaxy S20 FE’s release, its FE series pricing has fluctuated between $599 and $699. The latest smartphone model, released in 2023, has witnessed a notable decrease of $100 in its market value compared to its precursor. Will the Samsung Galaxy S24 FE’s launch price trend upwards, potentially reaching $699 or more, rather than stabilizing at $599, given its flagship features and market dynamics?

While it’s still premature to make definitive claims, the latest Samsung device seems poised to take a more upscale approach with its sleeker bezels, enhanced Gorilla Glass, and larger display. Despite this, we anticipate that the tech giant will likely maintain its trajectory and keep the price stable around $599.
