Alimak Group and Skyline Robotics are developing a cutting-edge automated building maintenance unit (ABMU). The Alimak Group has made a strategic investment in Skyline Robotics, the terms of which remain undisclosed.

The global construction industry is estimated to be worth approximately $12.74 trillion, according to Skyline Robotics. Automating key processes in a sophisticated building’s operations will not only enhance efficiency but also foster sustainable management practices throughout its lifecycle.

Skyline Robotics’ flagship product, the Robotic Window Cleaner (RWC), is a cutting-edge, high-rise window-cleaning solution. In 2017, Ozmo effectively reduces injuries, enhances the reliability and excellence of window cleaning, and fosters job creation. The corporation’s primary goal is to revolutionize the industry by fully automating all high-risk tasks, starting with the development of cutting-edge window-cleaning technology. In 2023, Ozmo successfully secured a significant award for its parent corporation.

Alimak will merge with Skyline Robotics’ Ozmo technology to provide autonomous window cleaning services, ensuring the protection of property while upholding exceptionally stringent environmental, social, and governance standards. By integrating Alimak Group’s global expertise in vertical access solutions and Skyline’s robotic capabilities, the companies may be able to create a collaborative framework that enables construction maintenance teams to effectively tackle increasingly complex design demands, skill shortages, and best practices.

Emphasizing the importance of prioritizing customer value through bolstered security, amplified productivity, and optimized value effectiveness. The company boasts an extensive portfolio comprising state-of-the-art elevator systems, including permanent and temporary hoists and platforms, as well as maintenance and construction solutions globally?

“This partnership represents the subsequent step within the evolution of BMU know-how, making them smarter and extra integral to trendy asset administration,” mentioned Philippe Gastineau, senior govt vp of the Façade Entry Division and the Top Security & Productiveness Options Division at Alimak Group. “As we automate building management units, we’re revolutionizing the maintenance of buildings, empowering architects and builders to design and construct innovative, eco-friendly structures that exceed expectations.”

In August 2024, Skyline Robotics collaborated with Palladium Window Options to install Ozmo technology at the 45-story New York City skyscraper owned and managed by The Durst Group. The Skyline system incorporates artificial intelligence, machine learning, computer vision, and a KUKA robotic arm to create a cutting-edge technology solution. Ozmo has undergone rigorous testing to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, earning a reputation for excellence.

“We’re entering a brand-new era of automated façade management.” Through our innovative collaboration with Alimak Group, we’ve further amplified our vision to own the exterior envelope.

“We’ve witnessed the impact of automation on modern infrastructure, exemplified by innovative solutions like Ozmo’s window-cleaning robots. Now, we’re poised to further transform our business with the world’s largest international supplier of sustainable vertical entry systems,” said Michael Brown, Skyline Robotics’ CEO.
