
Inadvertent in-flight shutdown resulting in lack of management, Coombe Nation Park, Warwickshire, 25 March 2025.
The plane struck the bottom in a wooded space while on strategy to land at a website adjoining to Coventry Hospital. The accident occurred through the sixth consecutive flight, which was in preparation for demonstrating the plane being operated in accordance with the operator’s Past Visible Line Of Sight with Visible Mitigations (BVLOS VM) authorisation.
The reason for the accident was recognized as a software program bug together with a lack of synchronisation between the Distant Pilot (RP) and the Security Distant Pilot (SRP), whereby the SRP’s hand controller had remained set to the disarm place when the plane had taken off. When the plane got here inside vary of the SRP’s controller, this resulted in energy being faraway from the plane’s electrical propulsion motors, resulting in the plane stalling, its emergency parachute system being disabled, and a subsequent uncontrolled descent from a top of 60 m.
